    After hours emini trading

Do you want to know why the S&P, Naz and the Dow move after/before hours? It's because the "heavily weighted stocks" are being traded. Watch those stocks and you'll see the indices move too.

    Single Stock Future contract expiration?

You might want to start trading options first. Then you'll have some experience with that type of instrument. If you can understand options, you'll have no trouble with ssf's. Also, there is a lot more info out there on options.

E-mini Indicators: TICK, TIKI, VIX, TRIN, & PREM

I use 1 min $tick to indicate short term turning points in the ES. $tick is a leading indicator giving a 1-2 minute warning of an impending change of direction, however this change in direction is only short term. You have to be careful because when the $tick has a turn around; a trade in...

Are dual processor machines necessary ?

I had 5 applications running at the same time with a P3-800Mhz with 512Meg of ram and my CPU utilization maintained 20-40%. Then I added 5 more applications, browsing windows, a news feed, a chat page ... low intensity stuff. Well my CPU utilization rose a bit but it maintained a level of...

Are dual processor machines necessary ?

Is a dual processor machine really needed to trade? From everything I read, all you need is a 1 gig single processor machine with about 256M ram and a cable/dsl connection and you're ready to go. Most software programs don't require that much processing power. Obviously when it comes to...

zagged when it should have zigged

If gap fading were the only strategy one uses, it could be profitable because of the statistics on the side of the closing of the gap. Also, the nature of the trade is that the risk to reward ratio would be favorable. :D

    Prop Futures

Exactly! Choose profitable traders. The key is to offer them a deal that they cannot refuse. Recruiting would take on a different meaning. You recruit the elite not the wannabees.

zagged when it should have zigged

I have noticed that most gaps on the S&P are filled with 5 trading days. I wonder if anybody has done a study, but I'd be shocked if more than 10% of gaps remained open after a week of trading.

    Prop Futures

After following the thread "Worldco R.I.P. 1993-2003 ?" I have come to figure out that in order for prop trading to work in futures, management needs to actually develop traders into traders instead of developing commission generators.

What is the difference between not having a bias to direction and DOUBT?

That's it man keep it simple ... follow your trading systems signals and wherever the market goes, it goes. You cannot predict, nor control the market. You can, however, control whether or not you follow your signal.

    Calculating Risk/Reward Ratio

The question is not about win/loss ratio; it's about risk/reward ratio. Statistically, you should be able to take a small sample of consecutive trades and come up with a consistent percentage. That same percentage should be consistent with another sample of consecutive trades. In other...
