Where does one work after trading?

+1... I will add to this idea more in relation with the PS statement... always have an exit plan... I did exactly what surf said, but what I lacked was an exit strategy... what valuation do you call stupid that some is willing to pay for in a short span of 5 years? 7x acquisition cost...

Why no prop firms for non "active" traders !?

d00d... GS has $9b in equity for their prop desks last time I checked... I dont know of a single prop house that has that much... you should not compare apples to oranges.... and if you are still insisting, then you do not understand the risk they need to calculate... read about VaR on google books.

Why no prop firms for non "active" traders !?

they would have to put up more capital and bear your overnight risk, which I don't see why they would do given it would require them to manage that risk like hawks (and try to offset it as well)... they are in the business of making money while reducing their risks... so ideally, flat or...

    Wireless router for trading?

nothing to do with edge.... it has more to do with reliability... wireless is more prone to issues with at times forcing you to reconnect, it happens... while not often, all you need is for that to happen when you are scalping 10+ lots on DAX or TF and your stop is not met because your stop...

    Wireless router for trading?

depends on your timeframe... if you are scalping or trading minute/tick bars... or "day trading" ... stick with wired trading... otherwise, cisco(aka linksys) and netgear are good...

Energy Spread products and brokers don't have them?

Are you sure you clearing through RJO and not TRAD? they became an FCM last year I think... and yes, RJO is pretty good... I like their reports for grains they put out (anther point of view per say)... when in doubt, ask RJO to create a subledger account tied to CQGIC... executions are faster...

Energy Spread products and brokers don't have them?

I understand that, but to be honest TRAD is not the best broker out there, nor is their platform the best... they only started updating it over the past year or two, before that it was a worse dog... most people are used to TradeStation and EL... which is why they have a large following... but...

Energy Spread products and brokers don't have them?

he is probably spreading softs, brent and gasoil... anyhow, the issue you are facing might have little to do with the "broker" and more with the charting platform with TRAD(aka Tradestation)... As a CQG user myself, sure.. it can be "expensive", but that is the cost of doing business... in...

Whats best for serous ATS: lightspeed vs rithmic vs DAS

I dont think you understand yet, perhaps is because you are a software guy... who knows... until you fix your strategy, specially if "sudden price movement" ruins everthing... DO NOT BE CONCERNED WITH LATENCY... you are focusing on the wrong thing... get your strategy working consistently and...

Whats best for serous ATS: lightspeed vs rithmic vs DAS

I agree with all you are saying... true hardcore talks to the MDS Servers of the exchange in question directly for their quotes, and also sits next to the sequencer servers and rebuilds the orderbook...and it costs way more than what most think, not because of a single component, but because of...
