    When will this bubble bust?

I'm thinking the market marks time, maybe a little higher, until the elections, then we get another big-ass rally regardless of the results.

    Is this really happening

Thank you, Arnie. I thought about posting the same chart myself but I thought it wouldn't be worth it because people would blow right past it and keep trying to characterize this move as a repeat of a 1999 style blowoff or as totally unprecedented, just as they've done in this thread. I...

    Dow 14000

I agree it is monumental ignorance. Ignorance caused by a seeming lack of intellectual curiousity. Everything defaults to "It's Bushitler and the Jews manipulating the market." That's not a path that's going to lead to any useful market insight. All these predictions of a crash....I was on...

    Disillusioned

Great post. One of the truest things I've read here at ET. Most companies demand that employees devote their whole being and soul to the glorious corporation but when it suits their purposes to f___ you they have absolutely no hesitation whatsoever. There is another psychological...

    When will this bubble bust?

It makes plenty of sense. Ford is down about 50% over the last two years. So is GM. It's not like the market just figured out yesterday that Ford is sucking wind.

It doesn't quite often drop to 10.45.

VIX 10.45...down .45  According to the stock market, the world is at peace forever, the economy is the peak of perfection, and cancer has been cured.

    OPEC is an absolute joke..

He's not wishing, he's just making an observation. If OPEC had the power it once did, oil would have been up strong today instead of off another buck or two. Obviously, that has implications for several different markets.

    Black Monday, 19 years later

The high it hit was two months before 10/19/87.

Sorry guys no chance for a down day

True. Ignorance and an inability to process information effectively (i.e., a low IQ) lead to use of the old excuse.

where is the tool that said....

    I like it.

Sorry guys no chance for a down day

Apparently, not at Elite Trader. The Jew Devil conspiracy theories appear to be widely accepted here. Hey, time for a poll!

CNBC: If I hear the word "Dow" one more time....

You guys are all completely nuts - from the imagined scheming of CNBC anchors to the government manipulating every tick to Jews under your bed plotting against your P&L. Turn the fucking TV off if you don't like it. Jesus Christ....

    Market acting a bit heavy

Hey, what happened to don't make predictions about the future? :D We sucked you back in to the market chit chat. I agree with you, the bias is likely shifting slightly to the downside. I think the market is about 30% bearish, 20% bullish and 50% can be convinced either way. With bids...

    Market acting a bit heavy

CPI number comes in great but market can't hold highs. Financials, which have been huge leaders, losing bids. Techs not holding highs. The shorts might finally be getting a trade here.

    The Rally

Yahoo matched revised estimates and announced a share repurchase plan, Motorola matched with slightly light revenue but nobody gives a crap about Motorola anyway.

    The Rally

    Absolutely frickin' right.

    The Rally

It must be the Elders of Zion pulling the puppet strings. How will we stop them? Save us, Pikachu! :D

    The Rally

I remember hearing about that boogie man as far back as the '80's. The savings rate has been low to negative for at least 20 years.
