Taking 1million to zero in "n" months.

That's a gut-wrenching loss. I think it would be helpful to plot your own equity chart on a daily basis since inception, then you can objectively compare your own performance over time.

'Star' Traders Who Leave Banks To Strike Out On Their Own Are Realizing They Sti

I'll give you a quarter and say that managing a hedge fund detracts from trading, but you give me a quarter for the fact that it shouldn't interfere excessively with their generating alpha. How does that sound?

That's an excuse. With their starting AUM, hiring back office personnel should not be an issue.

Maybe the next poll shows Syriza back in the lead. At the same time, Spain goes in the toilet. Eur/USD 1.2500 becomes the new ceiling.

    Simplicity in TA

For the Dow, the 5/18 volume spike low was briefly violated on 5/23. The decline over past weeks has shown increasing volume on each price decline, while the rally over past week was on steadily declining volume. I think the current consolidation phase will lead to a fast and furious decline...

Internet Speed Shootout! What's your speed!

You can thank Masayoshi Son for that. My speed is a pathetic 15.89 Mbps TW cable modem.

The Best Investment Strategy There Is?

1 year is rather arbitrary. Some sectors have bear markets lasting many years, if not more. What you are suggesting can work if you buy into a 1 year dip of a sector that's in a longer term secular bull market.

WIZETRADE: so easy even a kid can do it

Who said they are out of business. Did you actually know or do you assume? Maybe that attitude is how you approach your trading too. http://www.wizetrade.com/lp/index.htm

    2012: The Battle for Survival

I agree, but the trick (a very big trick) is to make enough from trading to diversify.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-zIRMPSbO0 Dad says son achieved 355% gain in 6 months, if you believe it. (Commercial fails to mention he lost it all 2 months later.)

Underwater on my June SPY 130 puts bought at 2.00, but presently trading at 1.63. This market seems like a tuff nut to crack.

Maybe Europe breaks GOOG today. Long 3c GOOG 590 puts (weekly) at 1.80 (correction). They do a lot of business in EZ. 1/19/12 GOOG missed estimates due to weak European demand. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-01-19/google-sales-short-of-estimates-on-slow-european-economy.html

    My option trades

I got SPY puts at the close. EUR/USD could head down to ~1.2500, pulling S&P downward to test 1300 support lows, then bounce again from there. That's my scenario and hope. Eur/usd is a proxy for the European crisis.

I think Eur/USD could head down to 1.2500, then bounce off those lows. If so, SPX declines, then reverses like what happened today.
