    Anyone looking at MTCH here?

I do some 'no-brainer' trades to capture momentum over a couple of months timeframe. Shorted MTCH 10 October at 48.10 (using put spreads) and closed most of the position 21 October at 90% profit. Still got some outstanding exposure so I would like to see it fall further.

    optimal point for profit taking

Why 25%? Why not more or less than 25%? Is your expected profit 25% every time you open a trade?

So, I think I just created some stock option ALPHA for you guys...

Just a suggestion, but have you considered thinking these ideas through properly, modelling, backtesting, paper-trading (*) etc before you launch them upon us all like an epiphany and wait for someone else to tell you why they don't work? (*) you know, the things that traders do!

Who is the Greatest Trader of all time?

The original question is vague, but a couple of suggestions that I haven't seen here yet. The Cornwall guys who were in the Big Short had an enviable equity curve and turned USD110k into USD120m over 4 years IIRC. Unlike some claims, this seems realistically achievable with a good strategy and...

    Swing trading with Butterflies

I'm irritated about exiting the ES Swing Trade (#270). I had closing orders between 4 and 5. Those at 5 filled yesterday, but as ES dropped, the spread increased away from my BtC. With ES below 3650 today, I widened those from 4 and paid 15 just now as ES rose towards 3670. Still closed at a...

Greatest wealth transfer of all time... (spot the problem)

From a UK perspective - perhaps similar to US - I suspect that the value of the (mainly property / real estate) assets to be transferred, will have lower value over time as increased interest rates limit the affordability of those who will eventually buy them. However, personal debt is higher...

    Swing trading with Butterflies

I use EoD prices for swing trends. If I had the mental bandwidth, computer processing power, and commitment to disrupt my evenings (I'm in UK) I could take prices a minute before (US) close and make all trades then, but in practice for every adverse movement / missed opportunity overnight...
