Be careful... Many institutions follow Buffett's words like Bible/God's words. The small investors will not have a deep pocket to go against them. I understand what you are saying but please don't bet against them. Never bet against Warren Buffett, we will NEVER win.

But the longs should be happy because Warren Buffett still said he is looking to BUY bargain stocks, whereas technicians are now saying "look out below", the DOW is going to 12,000 & under. I have no comments for trading... but seriously for investing long term, I will NOT buy&hold anything...

Thank you for the intellectual advice. I'll try hard to implement what you just wrote. Also, there is a problem that new traders face. They have to bail out of their positions with only a few cents loss. The program trading usually is designed to trigger to take "all of these losses and more"...

Do you work for a prop firm? What stocks do you trade? Many stocks are heavily "program trading" and these programs wipe out completely all of the loss-rules set by the firm in a milisecond. I think the big boys use these program trading to take all of prop firms' "lunch & dinner".

I notice many ET traders here trade for themselves so they don't have to follow strict sets of rules. But I would like to ask for those who work for a prop firm, how can you compete with program trading?

i don't want to sound "negative" but i can tell you that it's IMPOSSIBLE for anyone to turn $5K to $250K in only 10 months. it's very UNREALISTIC. how about $5K to $50K? if you are the Master of all traders, you can do it.

the answer is NO! you have big responsibilities. day trading job is really hard, you will not be able to have any respectable income for at least 1 year. this is a very tough & demanding job. you will not be able to do it well if you worry about morgate, children's foods & clothes-expenses.

no one here on ET trade long term. most are day traders.
