There are 3rd party vendors like mailstreet.com or ATSG who can offer BES hosting at a fairly small monthly fee so you would then be hosted on a BES and have access to MDS on your BB and can run either MidCast Pro or Quotrek.

Out of curiosity, what did everyone think of eSignal's Quotrek demo? What handsets did you like the best that were on display?

You could always go wireless on a PDA and use a cellular network like CDMA or GPRS of just go Wi-Fi! :D In all seriousness, WISPs have made great strides to avoid major problems when the weather is poor. My brother lives in far east Texas and trades a bit on his wireless connection. Works...

Verizon has arguably the best coverage around. That is a huge advantage of CDMA over GSM. Network is also a bit faster too.

It should be noted that you do not have to be on a BES to run Midcast Pro on your Blackberry 6510 or 7510 via the Nextel network. All other carriers require the BES setup. Nextel put in place the technology that allows users to circumvent the Mobile Data Service property to access streaming...

riskarb, I trust you received my PM regarding the BES setup as well for MidCast. There is a property featured on the Blackberry Enterprise Server called Mobile Data Services that permits streaming content on a Blackberry handheld. Unfortunately RIM has yet to enable that property to be used...

He came out to the first Austin Trader's Group meeting.... Said that starting January 1 he was gonna be able to leave his job at SWA and concentrate solely on trading. I think he goes down to Richmond, TX (near Houston) alot so perhaps he has been busy doing that.
