Update time! I closed out my RUT diagonal a few days ago at a small loss when commissions are taken into account. I adjusted my SPX diagonal. I closed my 1365/1385 puts and added 1435/1440 puts and 1460/1470 calls (two tent poles). If the market works with me for the next week I should...

With the diagonals I have done there were a few months in a row where the market zoomed up to my short call with about a week or less to expiration. With a diagonal you want the market to expire right at the short, you just don't want it to go past the short. I've had months where that run up...

I've had more than 1 month where I had the market move very close to my short strike. Didn't have anywhere near the panic I would have had with the same situation in a FOTM. It actually makes things more intersting. You can move into a vertical, a butterfly or take your chances with...

Was long at 1448.25, hit the wrong button and got out at 1448.5. Was waiting for the fireworks. Damn buttons  Edit: turns out it was a good thing for now.

Took a deadzone fade for .5. Not sure where it is going from here.

Quick update on my Feb/March diagonals. I spoke a little too soon the other day, big comeback in about 2 days (basically at breakeven right now, looking at some adjustments as I think I got into my positions too early, see below). My results have been a little mixed. I have had a few months...

It's been a would coulda shoulda day for me. Damn customer called right before the breakout so I missed it while talking to her on the phone. Shoulda been long at 1433. I'll pat myself on the back for a fine missed trade .

I had my finger on the trigger to buy at 1430 (to play the dead zone) but didn't pull it :( .

9:35 bar open 1431.25. Upper breakout 1432.75, lower breakout 1429.75. With all the data and Fed stuff today might be best to sit out until 2:15 or so. Possibly play dead zone like Bighog outlined the other day.

Futures down more than I would have guessed this morning. Lots of data coming out this morning and the Fed later today. Might be a good day to trade your dead zone system Bighog, we will have to wait and see.

I shorted at 1427.50 during the 9:40 bar and then let myself get shook out for a loss. Will wait for the next breakout I guess. Did make a little back on a YM trade, need to keep my "revenge trade" emotions in check today :D.

I was kidding around with coach, sorry if that didn't come through in my message. I have the utmost respect for him (and many others on this board) and have learned quite a bit from him here and other places around the web. He also has a book that is really good. Enough stroking of coach's...
