Can anyone recommend a Canadian broker...

I'm in Canada and wondering - to open my own trading account (stocks - NYSE, NSDQ) for daytrading, I need $25k minimum to fund the account, is this correct? Should the account balance go below $25k is the account closed? Just wondering... Also, if I exclusively wanted to trade TSX...

Are there any day trading magazines worth subscribing to? I only know of two - Active Trader and - Technical Analysis of Stocks and Commodities

Okay, now where do you guys get your data feed from? Which feed source offers the most intraday historical data for backtesting? I'm looking to backtest day trading/scalping methods.

If I want to buy stock for a friend, and present them with a stock certificate as a gift, what is the best way to do this? Who would issue a certificate of ownership... the company itself?

I've never done any sort of backtesting, could someone point me in the right direction to get started? Is tradestation or trade-ideas a good place to start?

IMO, there is no problem with your trading, it's just that there was a major shift in the market recently. I bet you'll be back on point in the next few weeks.
