    Part Time Jobs for Traders

Yes I do trade. After 3 years of fits and starts I am turning a profit. Is one trade an hour for one tick too much to ask? (If you can't then you have to question if trading is for you. It's as simple as buying the bid and selling the ask. Hint: do that in an uptrending market...

    Part Time Jobs for Traders

Instead of working a part time job for $5, $6, $8 an hour wouldn't it be much easier to take just one tick an hour out of a market like the ES (or any market of your choice)? Maybe do one tick every half hour? Maybe one tick every 15 or 20 minutes? Do the math of capturing small gains.

    Obama's Treasury Secretary Pick

Bill Ayers would be a good choice. He has stuck with Obama thru thick and thin and should be rewarded with a gov't post. But maybe Defense Sec'y would be a better slot.

Is raising taxes on those making 250k going to hurt the economy?

Herbert Hoover tried raising taxes. I think we know what that did for him.

    how does a newbie learn?

Have to agree with that one. The best teacher out there. Let the REALITY of your losses sink in and LEARN from them. It doesn't PAY to have opinions. The only thing that matters is learning to be on the right side of the market and being patient to WAIT for the best opportunities.

    Home sellers suffering huge losses

And it's not over yet: by CalculatedRisk Alt-A; the new subprime. Or "We're all subprime now!" There is some evidence that subprime defaults have peaked, but Alt-A defaults are picking up steam (Tanta will have more today). The next wave is here, and these defaults will impact house...

    Day-Trading 2.0 for small traders

This in itself is an observation. This should give one pause before haphazardly entering orders. The market is a vicious arean. Keep watching and start jotting down notes of what you are seeing from your chart and the DOM. After watching the YM DOM & chart for a while watch the ES DOM &...

    Day-Trading 2.0 for small traders

I would not even demo trade the first few days but would just watch. Maybe just watch for a week or even longer. And have a DOM pulled up alongside the chart and watch the action over there as well. Watch the immediate RANGE that price is trading in on the DOM. Then watch how the range...

    Day-Trading 2.0 for small traders

Have you ever tried "no indicator?" Maybe take a breather for a while and just watch a naked chart. Not being critical, just a thought. Keep after it.

Not a lot of potential to the upside either. We are getting thru the pollination stage in pretty good shape weather-wise.

    Corn Crash!

My point being if anyone is thinking of shorting this market now you are too late to the party. There may be more downside action but the returns will be minimal.

    "Always be fading"?

On the other hand: Never, ever, follow conventional wisdom in the market. You have to learn to go counter to the markets. You have to learn how to think for yourself; to be able to see that the emperor has no clothes. Most people can’t do it. Most people want to follow a trend. “The...
