Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

what I see in that chart is a nice valley with a very nice hook right in the center of it. I see at least two trades I would have taken, the first with (IMO) limited risk going long @ 1840 around 3 pm after the hook (out @ 1870), the second a bit riskier, going short @ 1855 around 2pm (out &...

    SP500 - High Probability predictions for 2016

Bry, no need to hedge, I do day trading and I trade what I see. and... should volatility raise too much I'll stop trading. Volatility is good but increase the risk of sudden wide moves and I do not want to risk being blooded by extreme slippage.

    SP500 - High Probability predictions for 2016

I am generally not a bear or a bull just trade what I see, but...I see grim for 2016. I see a market crush like 2007 if not worse. time will tell...

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

It is a process... and this thread helps (a lot) as it push you to think hard (even the riddles, with time will start to make sense). Also, this thread leads you away from the mainstream trading approach (TA) and since the mainstream is paved with failed traders by just thinking differently you...

I'm 21 years old, couldn't enter University, planning to trade full-time.

Hmmm, before you quit your job, I would suggest you gain some experience (at least a couple of years, yes becoming a trader takes time...), prove that you can be consistently profitable and build up enough capital to be able to live some time without the need to earn money trading. What...

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

NE, I don't agree with you, the OP said many times that there are no experts in trading, I think this is a pretty clear message if you want to listen... Also, I have found this thread very useful, first of all because it pointed me to think for myself instead of looking for "how to trade" in...

I'm 21 years old, couldn't enter University, planning to trade full-time.

Bah, I don't need or care for any proof of success from any trader on ET as by just reading what is written I usually get a pretty good idea who is trading successfully and who is bulshitting. It is an acquired skill;) and an important one IMO... But then, even if you had the proof that a...

I'm 21 years old, couldn't enter University, planning to trade full-time.

IMHO: decide what you aim to do as Investing is different from Trading in both risk and reward. if you decide to trade, do not be in a hurry to make money as YOU WILL NOT MAKE MONEY for quite some time (if ever) but you will very likely lose money. So take your (screen) time and paper trade...

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

Day in day out, price move a fixed amount 1, 3, 5, 7, reverse will shout 2, 4, 6, 8, fake turn about but truth be told, it is just a chance most times will work, sometimes will not just know you this and size the block some stocks 1/4 some other 1/2 so don't be thick and use the KISS then draw...

What is the best time of the day to trade?

JS, your lines are almost perfect, though I would draw them a bit lower, at .50 and .00... also I would use some color to spice it up (Green at .5 Red at .00)...

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

Well JS, the father of two is 10 from sTF to larger TF, it is so Obvious. so think of this, if 2 makes about 2% then 10 makes about 10%... and on the even larger scale you may have 2 (x10), 4 or even 6 making it 20%, 40% and 60%. but then, it does not have to be 2, 4, 6 etc. but it can be 3...

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

By the way, I have placed some red and blue lines on my charts, how many Boxes (Big and smaller ones) I now have for trading. How could I have not seen this before is a mystery... it is so Obvious...

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

Hi FX on "a lot of traders get killed because they buy when price is falling because "it has to go back," and it never turns back and vice versa for selling" I can only say been there done that... this said, any particular day the price will generally do one or more of the following things...

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

FX, while it may be useful to understand how a market operates and even more useful to have screentime with the stock you trade, I prefer to KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid!) and trade what I see. at the end of the day anything can happen at any time, but, at any given time, some things are more...
