    [QUESTION] - TradeStation EasyLanguage

Weird how their forums are dead. Seems they’ve been around forever as well as easy language. Perhaps mutlicharts has something to follow. Pretty sure they have two versions, the easy language one and the .net one.

is there an order type that makes my order sitting at NBBO?

Except if your an HFT market maker, then you have the exchanges create the “Hide not slide” I believe it’s called order type created.

is there an order type that makes my order sitting at NBBO?

Problem is your orders always going to change last. Your going to get filled on the bid mostly when your the ask. Since most retail orders never hit the exchange to begin with, your waiting for a market maker to hit your bid, which is only going to happen when your the ask. Power to you but...

    Collecting real-time price data

Don’t think so. I pull it via Amiquote in Amibroker. Yahoo abandoned their API. Use to have historical and current via Amiquote where current was super quick and pulled last quote only. Think now it scrapes the website to get. Know some users run into issues when they try pulling thousands of...

    Collecting real-time price data

I’ve actually never used as I used AMibroker with the feed at the time. Simply exported what I needed from Amibroker in a .csv if needed elsewhere. I did think it was nice tool though to bypass IQFeed API. I know their API has a yearly fee? But not sure if that’s for access to the API or for...

    Looking for an indicator....

Another one is keltner channels. Their based off ATR. I use a 20 day moving average with bands 2-2.5 ATR off it. Helps visualize when things go parabolic. Part of any candle/bar will 95% or more be in the bands. When you start getting prices well above the bands then I’m looking to exit trades...

    Collecting real-time price data

IQFeed is base 500 symbols. Theirs packages to get to 1500. Then theirs options for historical that aren’t as limited. QCollector for instance doesn’t stream RT and just requests historical data so they don’t flat the symbol limits(double check with their support). Simply pulls and updates .csv...

    Retail Brokers Accountability

Kind of weird. Not American so never used Etrade but think if I was going to swing around 3 million dollars I’d find a broker with the right tools and executions. Are they commission free? It amazes me what people will do to save a bit of commissions. Feeds/software are tools and cost of...

    We're getting close!!!

I saw a Reddit post last week where OP mentioned buying a used car and the sales guy said not to put money down and to invest in the stock market. I still see posts where people are trying to get into the market so they can get in on the discounted market.... we’re almost at the top again...

WSBers playing with fire and getting burned: NKLA hard to borrow early assignments on call spreads

That's the trade of the century there. Just loan the thing out.

Why is my backtest overly optimistic?

Wouldn’t the simple process be to take your paper trading/forward test results and backtest over the period of the forward test and compare trades/executions?

20-Year-Old Robinhood Customer Commits Suicide After Seeing A $730,000 Negative Balance

Funny how 25k needed for stocks but 500$ is fine for an ES contract.

Any downside of choosing "continuous" ES futures?

Continuous is just a way of charting. It stitches front contract to historical front contract. Theirs multiple ways to do it. Just need to understand that when stitching contracts together, price levels may be adjusted in the historical contracts. Google “back adjusted futures contract” for...

Rookie Trader Racked Up $700K In Debt

Decided to check out robin hood Reddit. Topic about this was there. Seems it’s common on spreads for their numbers to go out of whack. If a short leg gets exercised it will show huge negative numbers until the long legs get squared off. Might not have been down 700k but got scared. Still sucks.

Brokers from Australia, Canada or Japan

It is kind blowing. Would think it’d be busy to just buy out any of the platforms out there today if you wanted the technology. TD direct investing using TOS though is just embarrassing. I have no idea how they can justify 9.99 for a trade when they have to be tying into TD Ameritrade. Never...

Brokers from Australia, Canada or Japan

Doubt you’ll find any in Canada atleast. Issue I believe is just the amount of regulatory needed to keep IRS happy. No one wants that. In Canada your looking at the banks and Questrade(other then IBKR Canada). Well theirs wealthsimple which is no commission but no USD holdings, 1.5% conversion...

Best laptop for trading (with Tradestation)

If your running windows then the built in defender is sufficient. 3rd party anti-virus don’t always play well with everything. If it’s trying to scan files that data are stored in or being updated it just slows down.
