Gottta tell you way way back in the early 80s I was an auditor for 2.5 years and that's how we would have done it back then.:)

Keep in mind whoever clears these trades watches this stuff or should be. It would be very easy to audit - "Give me a random sample of 100 statements of accounts with current balances between 23,000 and 25,000." It would take an SEC or FINRA auditor about 15 minutes to spot if this rule being...

Do you know for an absolute fact that other firms overlook it?

Of course the leverage of futures creates greater risk for an account just uner 25,000.

There is no way around that rule. The brokers don't like it either, slows down their commissions. It was previously mentioned that if you are approved for futures trading - this rule doesn't apply to futures. Futures are under a different reg.

So now Soros doesn't like regulations?

Uh Oh...I have violated one of my number one rules - don't talk about religion and politics - especially in cyberspace. Not saying you are wrong. Not saying you are right. I don't know.

So now Soros doesn't like regulations?

That's what I think. He is retiring. Being a speuclator is not like being Rupert. He knows his day has past, but ya know he's not going to come out and say it.

Futures Traders- What percentage of your net worth are you trading with?

I agree. I don't mind constructive suggestions or even constructive critcism. But, I don't want to fight, for the sake of fighting. Fighting doesn't work when someone can say whatever they want because they can hide behind cyberspace. I made up my mind a couple weeks back to just put someone...

Futures Traders- What percentage of your net worth are you trading with?

A 1.0% - 1.5% risk per trade is conventional. Some trading books say 2.0%. In a subsequent post you mentioned "you kids." I am not a kid, I am 57 years old.

Futures Traders- What percentage of your net worth are you trading with?

Thanks. I appreciate the comment. I use 1.0 percent to 1.5 percent maximum risk on each trade. I'll move stops tighter; but never wider. Usually I just move them up or down to breakeven when price is well past break even - on the good days. :)

I've seen some scalpers do very well. Seems to work for you very well. It's not for everybody, incuding me. I just trade my own account and most of the time swing trade.

Futures Traders- What percentage of your net worth are you trading with?

No, I use stops and utilize leverage. But, too tight of stops in order to minimize risk usually means you get stopped out a lot ot the time and that's like a death of a 1000 cuts (not saying you are doing that!). But I limit the contracts relative to my risk tolerance to give me some...
