Warren Buffet: We are in a long and deep recession the likes we have not seen

I was at the grocery store Sunday and the woman in line in front of me was on the phone with her bank's automated thingy transferring money out of savings into checking to cover the food. People baffle me; she's pulling money out of savings to buy food but her cart was full of expensive non...

    IB API disables TWS UI?

Wish I had found this thread earlier, reinstalled Java and tried multiple versions of TWS. Glad I'm not going crazy like I thought I was.

    T1 anyone?

Cable providers don't offer T1's - it would usually be through the telco or a reseller. You can still have problems with a T1 but you would usually have a service level agreement with the provider that would guaruntee swifter action if there is a problem. For better reliability you really need...

    The real tragedy ... education

Exactly! How much more dismal must it become before the obvious truth can be spoken; that public education in this country is an abysmal failure. How much more tax money must be thrown at the problem, how much more hand wringing, how many more of these stories (they all read the same) must be...

    Quotetracker and IB

In the upper left corner of your charts there is a "set timeframes" button, it looks like a yellow clock. The first menu choice on the drop down is "show premarket/aftermarket". You can change the settings there.

Their "good" collateral? Are you fucking kidding? The fed is valuing and monetizing assets that have no value on the open market which is different from printing money how?

could IB tws be monitored and controled remotely?

You don't need any extra programs. Assuming you are using windows, you can use the built in remote desktop. What you'll need is: -A static WAN IP for the computer you want to control OR use a service like no-ip.org or dyndns (both free) to make your computer findable on the internet - set...

What if their true intentions are to bail the banks out at the expense of everyone else? Actions are speaking louder than words right now, at least in my opinion.

    OSU vs LSU

What's embarassing is my conference, the ACC. 2-6 in bowl games. Big Ten ain't much better at 3-4. I do agree Big Ten is constantly overrated, especially in pre-season rankings. I think it's a northern thing with respect to the media; the journalists went to these schools and write for the...

    Abolish oil futures now

    Job Help

If you're good with computers look into getting a networking cert (CCNA etc) and working in a NOC or data center swing shift or overnights. You'll get decent pay and have days free to trade. It's also usually a good job for reading books (trading or other) as a lot of time is spent idle.
