could always acquire a loan from friends and family.., lets say it totals 100k in loan money, Pay them 5% interest per year (5k), then you add your trading capital (35k for example). then you have 135k of trading capital which translates to 540k of standard buying power (4:1 margin). somehow...
Exactly! How can I be worried about germs all day, and then at the first chance I get I'm making out with a girl after knowing her for an hour and trying to stick my fingers somewhere! Lol
surf must have upgraded to the TI Ferrari...at least the latest one actually looks more useful then a low end nokia.
To be honest I thought it was another joke...but it turns out there is such a thing lol, never heard of vertu before :P
Since I'm at a summer job and can't trade, I was doing some research. There is a firm called "trading places " in Paris, and also europroptrading based out of Madrid.
Anyone have information on any of these firms?
My guess is that you contact them, tell them your anticipated volume per month and see what rate they give you. I'm gonna call them and see if there is any way around the US passport garbage. Since I have a residence in France, maybe I can even set up a Gibraltar company to trade from.
If...
Yes my sentence is completely off. I meant to say that there is no way he would not hedge when he was up greatly in December. Especially with all the people taking the other side to his trade.
I highly doubt ackman is taking a loss here, anyway, didn't he short if from the 60-70 dollar range...
someone in ackmans position would not hedge when he was up big on his short in december.
My guess is that he bought tons of calls, and also probably sold puts as well.
There is no way he is taking a loss on that short position.
How much does health insurance cost per month? I'm definitely not saying dont try to lower your tax bill, but be realistic and always measure the risk involved with off shoring, keep in mind you will lose percentage points on your wire transfers and business fees/airfare to your tax haven...
I would agree with u. Lol for 20% tax rate they have probably a solid and affordable health care system, affordable universities, no worries about crime, kidnapping, extortion. Plenty of beaches,
Sounds like a bargain for us here in the states.
Interested to know how you would be taxed as a us citizen if u are not a us citizen??
My understanding is that u don't pay cap gains taxes on trading to the IRS, you pay your home country cap gains tax rates
Thanks for the info evo! Appreciate you taking the time out of your trading day/research to let us know the details for this. I was thing about this, I'm probably gonna hold off on trading and paper trade and trade options for awhile while I study for this exam. Would u suggest the 56 or 7...
I do plan on take the 7 or 56. But it's gonna take some time to study for it. Im gonna study for it over Christmas break, I have school every afternoon and evening during the semester.
Totally agree with the previous post. If u have 25k, u can easily use leverage to trade 250k or more on each trade.
Bottom line is that u have to be a good trader, manage your losses, and make sure u squeeze as much out of your wins as possible.
I guess u didn't pick up on my sarcasm. But seriously, a 30-50k account with 20:1 buying power is definitely enough to make a living scalping intraday. The OP was talking about buffets 22% return, and asking if it was even possible to make a living like that. Quick answer, no. To make a living...
I think most of the people who fall into the offshore prop catagory are probably in my situation. They dont really have enough capital to daytrade in a retail firm, they do not have the series 7 or 56 licence. So we are kind of stuck in this situation of trying to get margin accounts to...
I bet many here could crush buffet on a 25k scalping challenge.
I'm gonna make a statement that some people here will laugh, but its how I see it. IF YOU HAVE A GOOD SYSTEM...you dont need more then 20k in your account to make a living. 1000% percent a year should be easy, but you NEED...
