I sold one issue of the FCX bonds this morning for 50% total gain + interest. I have been considering US Steel bonds but was less optimistic about them to be honest. Not sure if I want to buy here or not.

Plains Exploration I think is what they are listed under, but FCX owns them.

Are you serious? It's showing 80+ through IB and through Etrade. The other one I have in a Schwab account and the bond prices don't seem to update in any sort of timely manner but they are showing that ones price at 74 last I looked.

I did something similar with EXXI a couple weeks ago. Bought $12k worth for a few cents on the dollar. Only risking a few hundred total. They have been buying up their debt like crazy, if I recall correctly they have bought up $1.7b worth for $200m approx. This seems like a reasonably good sign...
