    Bid / Ask on ES

What?? A Market order to buy will get an immediate fill at the ask. A market order to sell will get an immediate fill at the bid. Limit orders are held until the price is hit them it becomes a market order. Make 'em pretty, Chris

    Bid / Ask on ES

But of those 400 there, I'll guess that maybe only 50 will get filled at that price before prices move on. They get posted and pulled so fast, that reading the number of bids and offers is totally useless. Therefore I prefer MY price if I am going to get into a trade. And as I scalp, that 1...

    Bid / Ask on ES

I only use limit orders, (very rarely, I will chase if I think the move has potential) and I would guess that I have about an 80% fill rate. Never really measured it. Have a better fill rate on the notes, 90%ish. If trading the bonds, it then drops off probably under the 80%ish. If the...

    Anything better than Stochastics???

Just a thought - take off the 20 and 80 lines, put in a 50 and only buy when above the 50 and only sell when below the 50. Buy the first crossover of the 50 or if it comes back close to the 50 and turns back up get in. Play with the settings, and see what YOU think. Make 'em pretty, Chris

    bull is back

My understanding in listening to him - not following his advice - is that he is thinking cyclical bull in a secular bear. As he does not recommend short selling, but when the time is right, even if short term. Make 'em pretty, Chris

    Tradestation or IB

Had a local broker that cleard RJO, never any problems with them. They are big (financially) and been around awhile. Wouldn't think it should be much of an issue. My broker also had transfered from Refco, right after they bought LFG,LLC. Make 'em pretty, Chris

    Mechanical ES system

No more trades? One thought I have continued to have - is that you have backtested this over this last bear market. Seems to me that during a bull (however slight) that you would miss a lot of the profit of the upturn - but quickly catch the small corrections..... Would you consider...

    Anything better than Stochastics???

That in and of itself is telling you something is it not..... That is what led to the creation of the Stochastic Pop. Have you tried changing the numbers and modifying it a bit....moving the overbought and oversold lines to fit YOUR trading. Make 'em pretty, Chris

    "Mind Reader"

Interesting - but I now go into these things looking for the answer. I more often wonder what brings a person to think these things up - or to recognize the pattern and put it to a puzzle. i.e. like taking the horseshoes apart, etc. Make 'em pretty, Chris Que es? 2ABPSSLCPOOASSB

    Trading Treasury Bonds

If you are refering to buying the bonds and selling the notes or vise versa, of course you can. The bonds will often times have a larger move than the notes and the 10 will generally be larger than the 5's. So yes you can, and it will help with the risk by doing so. Make 'em pretty, Chris

    Scalpers Progress

With very much sincerity, thank you candletrader! I agree with the 75%. That is almost the goal that I have set for myself. But I do not think that it must be that high to be net profitable, but to be comfortably profiable yes. After trading like this for roughly 6 weeks and being net...

    Scalpers Progress

I had to make a rather abrupt leave from my trading office and set up a temporary (during holidays only, I hope) trading area, on a rather slow computer with 56K modem, and NOWHERE near enough memory! Thus the combination of the 26th and the 27th. 7 trades 4 winners (57%) for .75 = (drum...
