Summation index shows we bounced again today after the bond close but it is slowly working through support. We seem to be holding 1250's nicely at present and may need another bounce up before we get a follow through trend day down.

    Retiring from trading

"Ahem...Well, don't you think we should maybe ask for *more* than a million dollars? A million dollars isn't exactly a lot of money these days. Virtucon alone makes over nine billion dollars a year!" Dr. Evil: "Really?" No.2: "Mm-hmm." Dr. Evil: "That's a number. Okay then. We hold the world...

Not to be disappointed we rally on fighting the FED... Rolled over as anticipated after the month end money flow slowed... low held as anticipated... Not to belabor the obvious but we're nearing a strong support level and are oversold at the moment... Looks like we're in for some...

    market crash of 1987

I was in college at the time, however a friend who was a successful broker came home looking white as a sheet, puked his guts out, and seriously considered a career change. I guess he and his clients were long...

I looked at the S & P's in detail and it appears we're lookin' at a showdown -- Bull vs. Bear. We should have some volatility going forward as once a side takes hold the momentum typically carries to the next obvious support or resistance level. Trading is active so volume should keep things...

Big "S-turns" available for the taking as we tested the shorteest-term low then jacked to the top for some nice long intraday trends. What's next I don't know. Maybe with further analysis it will be clear but for now as a daytrader I'm out and will enjoy the weekend.

When will trading in the SP stop?

Ask a Merc member. I know the options pits at the CBOT have remained active while many of the futures have dwindled and locals have left. This after many of the locals working for 10 or more years in those pits. So the prospect of having the SP pit close is real. You can park cars in all the...

When it starts throwing fits (i.e. 1/23 outside reversal, etc...) you're getting close but picking the peak is an act of futility. Just know where the trend system guys put their stops, figure 3-4 atr's under the contract high and try to front run them. The floor is going to have a field day...

When will trading in the SP stop?

There is no doubt that screen trading has been given a leg up due to the liquidity of the minis, however I also think that institutions will continue to man the pits as I said as an insurance policy and even an edge. That is my hope. I think completely electronic markets are a set-up for...

When will trading in the SP stop?

Hopefully never. The pit fulfills an important function-- major liquidity. Additionally avoids the problem of electronic devils-- that is, if the electronic pipe breaks the pit is still functioning. Given the amount of money which flows through the SPOOS and the weight the index carries...

Looks like we're in for some sideways action here. Too far from the top or bottom of the range for anything else. Hopefully we'll have some steep slopes for carving nice big "S-turns." Good Luck

Neutral markets close, neutrally. Neutral markets with a bearish bias close neutrally with a a bearish bias, go figure.

I've been reading "market gurus" blabber about reports, numbers, earnings reports etc. Guess what? All after the fact BS. Market goes where it goes and then carve the reports into what happened. So oil dropped and the market rallied. No oil dropped and the market dropped finally...

After a mixed overnight session this am tested the low at 9am and 10am respectively and the lows held setting up a rally into the close. We are now neutral with a long-term negative bias.

Not to belabor the obvious but we're nearing a strong support level and are oversold at the moment. However that is the shorterm picture. Longterm we're in for a nasty drop if we fail near term support as selling would gain substantial momentum soon at lower prices. JMHO
