I scale out of profits for many reasons. The most important being that its psychologically pleasing to ring the cash register every so often. Also it smooths out my daily acount value. This leads into another discussion of.. whats better having a high win % with small gains.. or low win %...

Why is it that every so often IB's TWS standalone ignores my setttings and loads up the program to its default settings. THis happens atleast once a week to me... so its not in relation to upgrading TWS every so often. How do I set TWS so that it always loads up my saved settings? --MIKE

With all honesty... the only thing I trade w/ based on those rules is only betting %1 of portfolio per a trade. And using ATR as a stop or tralingstop... is a sound idea.. --MIKE

Honesly, I would avoid paper trading.. and instead get yourself a small stake and start trading for real.... especially if you want to intraday trade. I think paper trading is only valid for swing traders and traders that take multi day positions where price execution is not so relevant. --MIKE
