Sector Analysis Using Pure Price Action

You're right, I had Nasdaq in mind when I was talking about the run up in 2000.

Sector Analysis Using Pure Price Action

Financials at least in my eyes are not easy to short, simply because of the government involvement and the smacking they like to give to those who disagree with the rosy financial picture. The way demand is unrelenting it could turn into a sprint upwards like the one in the year 2000...

Sector Analysis Using Pure Price Action

Financial index it showing no sign of weakness. The only check is that it has gone beyond the overbought area. This though could also mean that the upward trend has accelerated. Notice how price has generally stayed above the mean of the TC. I am not so keen on shorting the financials. Gringo

Monitoring Q's. Demand hasn't given up and there's a slow and deliberate upside movement. Price is moving between a small tight range and demand has a the edge. Gringo

Exited the position. Demand was still present and not letting the kind of weakness I was expecting. No point it getting hung up on a position not so clear anymore.

Got Feb puts on QQQ. Price on weekly is in overbought territory. Daily is in Ret. Hourly is showing downward change in direction. Gringo

House of If You Can Draw A Straight Line

A & B are reasonable in real time but I have trouble seeing how C would entice me for a long. Demand wasn't strong enough and as a result price ended up at C. This thread is more about straight line method and I would only attempt long around D not around C. Lets not try to put the cart before...

Those puts would have caused some stomach ache. Even now there's no sign of a break in DL, neither daily nor hourly. SLA is quite a godsend if one can learn to not over engineer what already works. I've never had a year where I was sitting on profits and humming away. Usually I would find ways...

Today, it's all rosy and the sun's shining Money everywhere, food and fine dining Tomorrow, come the drop, the greats shall be pining Forget you not though, every cloud has a silver lining Day after, avoid digging, avoid bottom mining Wait to re-enter until you hear only whining Gringo

Gold, Silver, and Indexes Using Price Action

After a decade and a half the QQQ is approaching the all time high. Are we going to look back at this and say how people couldn't get rich despite such a one sided and consistent rise since 2009? Is the end for this bull cycle near? Would we be calling it the sovereign debt crisis? For someone...

    Nopac's SLA journal

Not all markets behave in a manner that's equally suitable for SLA/AMT. The logic works but the risk/reward is skewed in a manner that requires major deviation from the clean method of thinking.

House of If You Can Draw A Straight Line

Db had imparted some words of wisdom on me a very long time ago. The night was clear, with the starry sky looking magnificent in its twinkling glory: Db: Do not try and bend the line. That's impossible. Instead only try to realize the truth. Gringo: What truth? Db: There is no line. Gringo...

Yes, the price is continuing to trend sideways instead of showing some weakness. I am looking for an exit today.

I pay less attention to volume as price can go higher without it. Lets hope for the best. My situation is a bit shameful. I mistakenly bought Dec Puts instead of Jan and now will have to reduce my risk. If price doesn't cooperate quickly there's very little room for adventurism! Gringo

Added puts on QQQ. It has reached the upper limit of the trend channel and hourly is a bit weaker. This is less certain and obviously riskier than the long position so caution is the watchword. It's not easy initiating a position around here, looking down. I have till mid Jan for it to drop...
