    Oil beginning to threaten SIFs

The surgeon general has just announced that trading oil futures on the nymex is the number one cause of heart attacks in the us.

How much does a first-year prop trader make on average?

considering that most "prop traders" lose money or quit in their first year, the "average" is going to be very low. Your best bet is to go to college, trade on the side, learn and see if you can build up an account. If you run up your $10,000 to over $50,000 by the time you graduate, then...

    TWS booktrader and wrong hotkeys

Okay...thanks. This doesn't seem to work as well for es, er2, and ec. Quite often on a 40 row display, the current quote will be 35 from the bottom and 5 from the top, etc. It might just be a function of rapid price movement and a delay as to how often the bt auto re-centers.

    TWS booktrader and wrong hotkeys

btw...does anyone know how to keep the bt auto centered, so you don't need to continue to hit the re-center button?

    TWS booktrader and wrong hotkeys

That's because booktrader is set up to sell on the ask and buy on the bid. It is the opposite of the way the tws regular platform is set up.

Would you pay $50 per month for Premium Elite Trader without trolls and spammers?

Hey Slapshot, If you thinks it's a good idea, why don't you do it yourself ? That way, you can make the money. If you need to convert elite members, then just advertise on this forum. It's kind of like trading. If you like the trade, put your skin into it. 1)Traders who trade well...

Bright Trading 3 day trading school

What do you mean by "best traders" ? 1) Greatest income over a 5 year period ? 2) Most consistantly profitable ? 3) Lowest amount of drawdown vs equity high ? Your statement does not make any sense. You are not Don, so why speak for him ? You have not defined "best", so...

    Opening Orders - 2008

I guess I don't understand your comment. Trading only 1,000 shares of each, getting filled on 10 would give you 20,000 shares round turn.

Gehko, I think (and I'm sure there are many others) it would be awesome if you came up with a semi-automated process to trade 20 to 40 thousand shares each morning on the OO strategy and were profitable in doing so. Good luck with it.

    Opening Orders - 2008

Good point. There seem to be quite a few who check this thread out to determine if OO are for them. The papaer trading posts are very deceptive. This is definitely a strategy that does not lend itself to "paper trading" as a way to get a feel for possible results. Just having the book...

    Opening Orders - 2008

At some point you're going to need to open an account with a "prop" firm and start trading 100 lots. At that point you'll get the feel of how your system performs when the book gets closed and re-opens .10-.20 for or against you. Those are the kinds of experiences that test ones' meddle...

    Opening Orders - 2008

Since your results are from "paper trading", I'm curious as to 1) How many shares have you traded ? 2) Are you including commissions and if so, how much ? 3) Are you including slippage (this can be a huge factor in real life fills) ? Thanks for the update and good luck.

    Opening Orders - 2008

I think you are way "overestimating" the value of an approach to trading that may be statistical advantageous and way "underestimating" the psycological make-up of a profitable trader. ie: Don and Bob have taught 1000's of traders the OO strategy at their paid sessions and through ET, yet...

'Recession Resistant' Las Vegas Suffering Badly

Please, send them over to my neighborhood. About 10% of the homes have been for sale for over 12 months now with no buyers. The homes have gone from having realtor signs in the front yard to notices plastered on the garage doors, "No Tresspassing" "Bank Owned". At the peak, these homes were...

    Opening Orders - 2008

Why not just trade it using 100 shares? It would be very hard to lose much money in the aggregate on 100 share lots. That will give you a realistic "feel". Paper trading this strategy may lead to a false sense of either security or anxiety that may be completely unfounded in reality.

ACD--Is it the Method to The Madness?

LOL Those two posts above are "classic" elite trader "goofyness". Where people on here assume that because they have not succeeded with a particular strategy that the strategy itself is at fault. Please, don't worry about me. Been supporting myself trading for over 28 years now and am...

ACD--Is it the Method to The Madness?

optioncoach is on point. Mark's method is really a great way to be in a market on a big trending day or a big reversal day, which hopefully far exceeds thr small loses from the choppy days. That's it in a nutshell. Most traders who don't succeed at trading have never grasped the concept...

    12:12PM, Who is Shorting NDX?

The thing to determine is the speculative line of least resistance at the moment of trading; and what one should wait for is the moment when that line defines itself, because that is your signal to get busy. Of course, that line of least resistance defined itself awhile back and is still in...

    12:12PM, Who is Shorting NDX?

They say there are two sides to everything. But there is only one side to the stock market; and it is not the bull side or the bear side, but the right side.
