    Which Trading Platform for E-minis

Even though I'm an investor and swing trader by nature, often intra-day trade 5-20 lots for handles on the ES with Multicharts 3.x beta and IB. Never an issue. Multicharts is fantastic and prefer it's setup/layout over Ninja. Both are excellent, however, both can be demo'd. IB has $4.8...

    ES Journal Archive (2006 - 2008)

-1 from original 32? If so, IMO not the way to currently trade the ES. I would up it to 33.75 minimum or set a tight trail after being up so nice. Most that lose at on this play do so because they are too greedy. Edit: Right now I would set it 3-4 ticks under 36.5.

Out at 35.75. +3.25. If it breaks 37, will re-enter long after a pullback.

Long here at 32.5 with 10 cars. Plan is to take profit at 37 if it makes it there.

Trading e-minis with $1k starting capital

Actually found it rather straight-forward today and I'm not a fan of the ES (only when it trends hard). Setup doesn't get much better than that nice double bottom between 810 and 845am after a hard early am drop. Took 10.25 pts on two longs. IMO and like what others have expressed, high...

Highly Recommended Q6600 based custom build

Not a silly question. That was my total since I've been using the same XP SP2 disc for the last 4yrs or so. Forgot to edit that. Sorry. I'm sure most everyone already has a copy of XP Pro SP2 by now, but if not, you can pick it up for $80-90 if I'm not mistaken.

Highly Recommended Q6600 based custom build

I tried the Asus Maximus and Gigabyte X38 boards (Micro Center is 5mins away from me here in Cherry Creek, Denver). Liked the Gigabyte very much, but realized not many revisions had been put out yet. When I have so much $ on the line trading, generally not a fan of playing guinea pig and will...

Highly Recommended Q6600 based custom build

Good price/case for those looking to seriously overclock, but it is all airflow based. Have looked it over at Micro Center, and doesn't look like it caters to those seeking silence. With specs/case I mentioned above, I sometimes don't even know it's running. This Antec P180 with three 120's on...

Highly Recommended Q6600 based custom build

After vetting a series of different components, have finally landed on a winning combination. Strongly recommended for those "Do it Yourself" types seeking rock solid stability and power. Hope the component list below will help generate ideas where to start looking. High performance/cost...

It's Official: Microsoft Vista Sucks. Just ask Microsoft Execs.

Just completed the build below...STRONGLY recommended for those "Do it Yourself" types seeking rock solid stability and power. High performance/cost ratio: ~$950 plus cost of LCD's. I'm rather anal, vetted components for a great deal of time, been building my own systems since the late 90's...

predict Spitzer has been pimping Cramer

Do you need references to all the crooked action over in the Republican party? That is one seriously long and distinguished list. Both parties are chalk full of crooked clowns. The key is picking which clown parade will rape the nation the least. :)

why trade prop when you can retail daytrade futures with same 20:1 margin

why trade prop when you can retail daytrade futures with same 20:1 margin

Indeed. Much easier to read joe retail investor's mind than the ex-wallstreet Gordon Gecko's trading complicated instruments via enterprise grade TicoSat-com from their 100ft Pavel Shaposhnikov yachts (so, I'm a little dramatic) Position trading the volatile dry bulk shipping and solar...

    Intel Quad Core 2 Q6600 SLACR - $199 @ MicroCenter

On better thought, set timings to auto, and run it 1:1. Also, what power supply are using and wattage? Q6600 is somewhat of a power-pig. I'm running an Antec Trio 650W. Vcore settings? Cooler properly mounted to chip...enough thermal paste and no wiggle? You'll get...

    Intel Quad Core 2 Q6600 SLACR - $199 @ MicroCenter

In order of importance, I would look at memory timing, motherboard chipset setting (default it) and then CPU cooler. The Q6600 G0 SLACR should be able to do 3.0ghz no problem with good air cooling. When initially attempting the overclock, you are using CAS 5-5-5-15 type setting, correct...

    Intel Quad Core 2 Q6600 SLACR - $199 @ MicroCenter

The cheapest I've seen the E8400 sell retail is $199 @ Micro Center (currently out of stock, however). I can't believe the deals you can sometimes get at that B&M store...unreal. Strongly recommend the Quad cores for future longevity (Q6600 SLACR in particular due to price and O/C...

    Intel Quad Core 2 Q6600 SLACR - $199 @ MicroCenter

I believe he has a Gigabyte P35 board with dual PCIe x16 slots. I'm running Asus Maximus Formula x38 running dual eVGA 8600 GT's. I'd stick with Gigabyte or Asus in the x38. In fact I feel Gigabyte has surpassed the once reliable work horse of the motherboard world (Asus). Asus has lost...

ADVANCED GET RT manual for sale

Boy, just got to love those generalizations. Have BS/MS mech engineering degrees and played two D1 sports. Successful investor/trader. Engineers that I know to be successful in financial markets are so because they are cold and calculated when making quick decisions, similar to the daily grind...

    24" Acer LCD?

I will concur. The Samsung 24" 245BW's are simply incredible for trading. Run three of them. Very sharp text, excellent contrast, easy on the eyes and $399 @ Costco.

    Intel Quad Core 2 Q6600 SLACR - $199 @ MicroCenter

Just thought I'd point this out for those in the market... Micro Center stores are selling the Intel Quad Core Q6600 retail for $199 out the door, which equates to a ~$50 discount compared to anywhere online. Believe discount price ends 03/02, but don't quote me. They stock the sought after...
