BE DO HAVE and Jack Hershey vs Objective Reality

what i thank you (and gerry) for is providing me with a hearty laugh :) thank you. on a side note, it would make an interesting psychological study to find out where all your and gerry's hostility comes from. you must lead very unhappy lives. i don't know how long you've been at this, but...

BE DO HAVE and Jack Hershey vs Objective Reality

just because no entries and exits are posted doesn't mean people aren't making entries and exits (or holds and reversals). ever think about that? LOL the journal is a place for learning, not P/L and execution reports.

BE DO HAVE and Jack Hershey vs Objective Reality

I think a lot of people don't realize that $10k to $2mil is only 2 pts a day (assuming always buying max # contracts, and maxing out at 100). I don't know if I would always buy max contracts, but I can say for sure that a lot of us in the hershey futures thread could do 2 pts a day with our...

I never got the real-time data to work with Ninja for some reason (it didn't like my feeds) so maybe someone else who did can chime in too.

Wen, if you are using the SIM on ninjatrader from what I understand that is not real-time but generated from an algorithm. I could be wrong. I know that some brokers allow you to open a paper trading account to trade on real-time data (IB for one does this). What about using one of those?

Yes, very important, and pretty common sense too if you think about it. Example: Look at a doji bar (opens and closes at the same price). Most charting software considers that a "black" bar. Just because the charting software considers it a black bar, that doesn't mean that YOU should...

Why do folks reveal Profitable Strategies, are they NUTS?

I wouldn't say this is the key... It is a basic, fundamental, aspect of trading that many people fail at because of their psychology, but it is far from the "key to trading."

Very important point. When gambling, even if you make a positive expectation play you are unsure of the immediate outcome (and sure about the long term outcome). When trading FTTs, you are SURE about the outcome--- that it will go in the opposite direction of the trend for AT LEAST ONE TICK...

Why do folks reveal Profitable Strategies, are they NUTS?

Are you sure you aren't talking about the SCT posts of yore, like "Questions for Grob" etc? In the new futures journal, Spyder/Jack/Mak et al have taken GREAT pains to simplify the learning process. The first month is just ES, price, volume, and channels. The second and third month is the YM...

Why do folks reveal Profitable Strategies, are they NUTS?

PointOne: Did you read my post on the other page? The analogy is that in poker, the winners understand the game and the players better than most. They understand that the real value comes from being able to analyze a situation based on a complete data set and coming to a logical conclusion for...

dkm: textbook example of an ftt bounce download In the video I was being a little sluggish, because you could have ID'ed that FTT ON THE BAR THAT IT HAPPENED (the 12:45 bar). Do you see the "bounce?"

Cocaine: Try not to make it into a set of rules like "if this volume bar is x amount higher or lower than a bar 5 bars ago." Try to understand what to look for and how to know you are looking at an FTT as it happens...

Good question. This is why your eyes should be glued to the screen and be thinking hard about PRV when you label that bar "FTT" as I have described. Sometimes, you will be wrong. In fact, if relying strictly on the ES/YM, I might go so far as to say that if you aren't wrong at least 20-25% of...
