    Question? Split/Reverse Split reorg fee??

Depends on your broker and how much they like you. I'd rather pay split fees than reverse split fees, but that's just me ;).

    Marketsurfer says LONG AMD

I almost bought this last week as a spec on some of the rumors (before the runup Fri afternoon). Congrats on your good entry.

We Now Know What Happened At 6:12 AM This Morning

Nanex didn't disappoint - pretty pictures and worthless logic. It's like the goldbugs who say every move up is the natural tendency of gold to appreciate and every move down is Evil Bankster Manipulation.

    Extreme FX loss

I don't know about LLCs, but debt forgiveness isn't always taxable. For example, if you personally are insolvent (more debt than assets) when you get some debt forgiven, it isn't taxable. http://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc431.html

Congrats! Keep up the good work. With a little more track record like that, you'll have investors helping you figure out how to take their money.

IB TWS - live data for stocks?

ASHR has L1 quotes on nearly all the venues. I think for L1 you would need the US Value Bundle (edge and bats), and then the ala carte L1 feeds from nasdaq, Amex, NYSE. Cost $4.50/mo, plus up to $10 for the bundle depending on your trading (often free) For L2, IB only offers the biggest...

    God bless a higher VIX

This is why you short the VIX when you're a trader. Because if it goes down, you make money on your short and if it goes up, you make more everywhere else.

Using strategy ranking to maximize capital allocation to a portfolio of strategies

Calculate the frequency of B events, possibly conditional on whatever you think matters, and value cash held aside as an option on B. If the option value exceeds A, hold cash; if not, invest in A.

Is this trading strategy illegal or against some brokers policy?

He's trying to default and stiff his broker, ala the big Swiss move and resulting wipeouts. You might get away with it, but not for big amounts.

SEC Fines ITG $20 million for Dark Pool Violations

To be fair, they do give money back to people in cases where it's really obvious, like Ponzi schemes they bust. But if some guy trades options with inside info and gets caught and his assets seized, they don't ever go back to the market makers who got clobbered that day and make them whole.

SEC Fines ITG $20 million for Dark Pool Violations

HAHAHA, good one. Yes, the SEC is supposed to try to identify the harmed parties and return the funds, but sometimes it's just too hard, ya'know? Then they have to keep it.

Educate me on the ipo process?

Why would you want to be a small public company anyway, unless if to sell out to the suckers, er, public? All the regulatory costs can eat up a huge amount of your time and profit, expose executives to extra legal liabilities and personal trading restrictions, and for what? If your business...

IB TWS - live data for stocks?

You also get a limited number of L2 windows in TWS. I think it's something like the max of: 3 assets/$1M last months commissions/$800 Or you can pay for "quote boosters" for $10/month/extra window (which also give you more L1 quotes too, but you get tons of those anyway).

Which firm offers the best margin rate?

With seven figure balances, you can negotiate with the big retail brokers. Some will be competitive or even (a little) better than IB, but it depends on how much they want your business.

CFD shares broker with 1:20 leverage like Plus500

I read a 12 part series for why you should short Plus500 as a stock due to all the bad stuff they were doing to their customers. If you're thinking of becoming one, make sure to read if first.

Citadel Says One of Its China Accounts Was Suspended

If the underlying stocks can't be shorted, the market makers may stop making a tight market in the ETFs since they can't hedge and the ETFs could start trading at big discounts during a selloff.
