    NoDoji's Day Trading Log

It looks like the AIPC was a $150k position. Holy cow. You can't blame yourself for taking profits when the market is up huge. Stocks move with the market often so getting out may have been prudent. But now the fact you would have made a lot more is making you think it was a huge mistake...

what are the jobs that make millions ?

I think this is an important point. To build wealth you can control a couple of things: income and expenses. Most folks focus on income but most of the millionaires I know focus at least as much (or more) on lowering expenses. It's less fun to plan for wealth 20 years out -but I like to...

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

Nasrudin was on his hands and knees searching for his key in a well-lit area in the centre of the street. Some of his neighbors came to see why Nasrudin was on his hands and knees.“What are you looking for, Nasrudin?” enquired one of his neighbors.“My door key,” Nasrudin replied.The...

    Trader P/L 2009

I was down a bunch (~ $4,000) early last week and didn't post blotters. Took some time away and traded some today. I'm going to take it easy and use less leverage. Also, quitting early in the day seems to be a good idea since I always seem to make gains and then give them back (and then some!).

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

Caementarius spake thus: The obvious is that to profit from changes in price, you must have some understanding of the _causes_ of those changes. "Happy is he who knows the causes of things, and may subdue all fears and implacable fate, and trample the roar of greedy hell beneath his feet."...

How about once every 1.5 years, you get an itch to go back to prop trading, register with a shop that requires your licenses and doesn't have a capital lockup. Then, a short while later, you reconsider and close your account.

    Prop firms piggybacking

I think it's an interesting problem to be able to cloak your trades. I'm a newb to all of this but I can imagine a few ways. How about periodically making really bad trades and offseting the position by trading options in a retail account. You'd have to be very careful and would incur...
