1000-2000 symbols+ tick by tick data over ADSL - Bandwidth ? Your experiences?.

Ok eSignal has a symbol limit of 2500 which I need to cover markets of interest. What I am wondering is how much bandwidth does that require - i.e. ADSL or do you need leased line. Would be interested in peoples experiences of streaming this many symbols/fields - ideally would like to receive...

Your experience trading with both uplink and downlink via satellite

Thanks Atticus - I am already used to dealing with 380ms latency via ADSL between Bangkok and Hong Kong - routed via US or Korea.

Splitting a data feed between two or more PC's.

i.e. can I have one data feed feeding real-time streaming data into programs on two different PC's. Ethical questions/contractual issues aside, can it be done? Thinking more of retail type feeds here.

Your experience trading with both uplink and downlink via satellite

Hi would like to get peoples feedback on what this is like in practice- issues (latency, rain) less well known glitches. I know nobody uses satellite when quality ground links are available. (feedback on trading via 3+G cellular network as sole link also of interest). Background...

South America, how's the Brazilian economy doing?

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-06-28/ibovespa-futures-fall-as-weaker-real-rekindles-inflation-concern.html "There are too many problems with Brazil’s economic policies...........any problem you can imagine, Brazil’s got it" So much for South America's economic prognosis/analysis...

    Is day trading worth it?

By the time you can do it you won't want to do it anymore. Secondly by the time you have learned how to do it you will have already burned through your account. As for long term sustainability you are actually risking a lot to make a little. If you are doing leveraged business you are...

South America, how's the Brazilian economy doing?

I thought it was all a home grown miracle by those oh so clever Brazilians according to SA - nothing to do with China and Iron Ore bottleneck pricing.

Three 30 inch monitors... is it enough?

I would have thought that it would work with DVI-D or DVI-I (both single link). A key point however is that it has 2 DVI inputs so maybe it is set up only to work with 2 inputs. The DVI connector on a device is therefore given one of three names, depending on which signals it implements...

South America, how's the Brazilian economy doing?

Ah yes, but according to SA seemingly the Brazilians had got it all worked out and were prepared to show us the way........................

Three 30 inch monitors... is it enough?

Agree need dual link to achieve max resolution, but I would have thought I could run at 1600x1200 with a single link DVI ouput. It seems not.

Three 30 inch monitors... is it enough?

    1) short sighted so need low resolution not everything oi one high resolution 2) Use multiple programs to analyse so keep the mouse clicks down - once you have tunnel carpel you have it. 3) Scanning thousands of stocks across multiple markets.

Three 30 inch monitors... is it enough?

While I am here: I am running my U3011 via Displayport from NVS295. It seems it will not run with a single link DVI even at 1600x1200 - understand that it requires Dual link DVI to run at 2560 x 1600 (DVI/DisplayPort input sources). Dell says: 'In DVI, please use the dual-link DVI cable...

Three 30 inch monitors... is it enough?

3011 runs hot - not LED - they stayed with the prior technology supposedly because colour was better - hmmm

    UK is broke

Rents paid by 'housing benefits' and pretty well known there are scams going on. I doubt that the Germans were planning on as many 2m settlers in a newly conquered Britain.

my god to start your oWn fund is it possible?

The key was stability of returns - meant you could borrow to inbest and get the leverage effect. Probably completely uncorrelated as well as befits made up made to order for marketability results. then again f you actually took money out to pay interest rather than watching it supposedly grow...

    UK is broke

It seems he is getting GBP25,000 in benefits [welfare] so he is not doing any kind of labour. Where I grew up you can still see the defences against a possible German invasion - pillboxes, anti tank rocket baseplates, Dragons Teeth concrete blocks. Every village has its War Memorial. We were...
