holding a Feb SPX Iron Condor.. What to do

Unless those strikes are wrong then it looks like you're facing a max loss on the call side. Rolling in this case is just basically opening a new trade - make sure this new trade will be a position that you actually want, not a position you opened because you were chasing or minimising losses...

Is there a credit spread equivalent or synthetic of a calendar spread?

Sorry I misread, yes this would be a synthetic put cal. I'll have to fool around with some prices to see if I can apply it in the real world

Is there a credit spread equivalent or synthetic of a calendar spread?

Thanks for the expanded explanation, shorting stock in my account isn't practical so I'll just have to go busking on the street to build up some free cash reserves :)

Is there a credit spread equivalent or synthetic of a calendar spread?

At the moment I enjoy trading credit call, credit put, iron condors, iron flys and credit diagonal spreads. I just wanted to expand the amount of spreads that were available for me to trade.

Is there a credit spread equivalent or synthetic of a calendar spread?

I should've made it a little clearer - my example is for an account with stock only - no cash. So I can't go and do debit strategies with my account as the cupboard is bare, but I can do credit strategies and lodge stock to cover the margin required

Is there a credit spread equivalent or synthetic of a calendar spread?

I know there is no edge to the strategy - please see my response as to why I'm asking the question Yes, I thought you would have to have some stock in the synthetic so this wouldn't be practical

Is there a credit spread equivalent or synthetic of a calendar spread?

I trade ASX options and stock. Here in the land downunder you can lodge stock with the ACH (Australian Clearing House) to cover any margin required for any options trading. They do give the stock you lodge as collateral a 30% haircut for and top 200 ASX stock So lets say you trade a credit...

Is there a credit spread equivalent or synthetic of a calendar spread?

This question arises from me lodging stock to trade options - obviously when I do this I can only do strategies where I receive a credit. This means I'm limited to things like bull put spreads, bear call spreads, iron condors, iron butterflies etc I love trading calendars too and just...

Income trading in the current market environment

Yes I am satisfied with the overall result, what I wasn't happy with was my analysis of the overall market situation. When I had the condors on, my mind would play tricks on me and see that the market was going to bounce then trade in a range. Only when I asked myself "If I was flat the market...
