    NTM Straddles

Just remember this. If a stock is $30 and you pay $4 for the straddle, the stock has to move MORE THEN 13% for you to BREAK EVEN. The wrong leg of the straddle will be almost worthless after the IV implodes, and the right leg of it will be trading at near intristic value. I can't tell...

    Dj..

over 20% short interest, how many of those people do you think got margined out? Haha. Anyway, I don't think the deal's going to go through. What motive does the family have to sell the business? It's been their business for a long time, they don't need the money, and I personally can't see...

    InteractiveBroker (IBKR) IPO RAISED RANGE

the nymex increased the initial price and the # of shares issued, they gapped up a little over 100%. It's very possible IBKR gaps up 10 - 20% at least.

    InteractiveBroker (IBKR) IPO RAISED RANGE

I think I'm still going to buy it, I can probably flip it for a quick profit still.

    Selling naked puts question

Here's my way of judging assignment risk: If (option bid + option strike) <= stock price, there's significant assignment risk.

    InteractiveBroker (IBKR) IPO RAISED RANGE

I mean, the increased range and more shares means there was a lot of demand for the shares, but now I'm a bit worried about the valuation, could the IPO be overvalued now?

    An option broker (full service)

$100 / contract? you gotta be shitting me, you'd need the price of the commodity to either explode or implode to have any hope of seeing any money out of it.

Automated $ Transfer System (ACATS) at IB

If you have just stock, go for it. Anything more complicated then that, forget it, just use cash.

    shorting stock

Of course you have to pay the dividend, otherwise that'd be 1 massive scam. Find a dividend paying stock, short it at closing, buy it back at opening when it gaps down due to the divvie being paid.

    Money as Debt

this video seems like it was produced by people w/ the same mentality as the liberty dollar scam artists.

    The ultimate b!tch shield?

I don't know a single woman who would wear that shit. Why would they wear that shit when they could carry mace or a gun instead. That's a HELL of a lot more practical.

why do people complain about IB TWS crashing so much?

On average, firefox crashes on me 2 - 3 times / week while I'm running the web-based streaming quotes application from another broker. I been using TWS for about 2 weeks now, haven't had 1 crash yet.

This dude made $15,000 in one stock trade

$15000.. ok, that number alone means absolutely nothing, because if that's on $1 million capital, then it's only 1.5%.

    Dupicate Strikes

ANY contract adjustment may result in duplicate strikes. ANY contract adjustment forces new "Standard" contracts to be created, and the old contracts that are now non-standard trade w/ different terms and symbols.

Would you manage OPM without an asset management fee?

I would trade OPM w/o an asset management fee, without question, for a cut of the profits. So instead of typing in 500 and clicking transmit, now i type in 1000 and click transmit for the same order, and make a little more then I used to. Wow, so much pain, having to type in a bigger number...

What the hell? Time decay has very little to do w/ the margin interest rate.

    IB (IBKR) IPO auction

Very true, the one main insider will own 95% of the company, and his share arn't going anywhere. Plus I think the dutch auction system gaurentees no gap-down on the first day. An IPO priced in other ways may be overpriced. An IPO sold dutch auction style.. gets sold to all bidders at the...

    forum consensus on AMZN

The problem w/ amazon's business is that one of the main things they do to keep customers loyal is the free shipping deal. What happens if other retailers offer the same thing? Also, their business model is far from unique. Look at yahoo shopping, or google's froogle, very similiar things...

    IB (IBKR) IPO auction

IB are market makers, and also have very few junk accounts. Brokerages like AMTD have tons of ppl with junk accounts under 5K that barely generate any commissions. IB squeezes these people out by having minimum activity fees, a 5K minimum deposit, and charging you for even basic quotes unless...
