Padded Pensions Add to New York Fiscal Woes

You're right about the stress. I left off the getting shot, stabbed, or general ass whipping as the physical demands and portions relating to stress. But, as to the positions, a cop is a cop is a cop. He or she can do the job or will be medically retired. Even a desk commander must qualify...

Padded Pensions Add to New York Fiscal Woes

Part of what causes the problem is the actuarial "methods" used over the years and politicians getting their hands in the pot. Smoothing and rounding and saying 85% funded is great and essentially "fully" funded, etc... In your example above, if the employee was paying 8% into the system and...

Padded Pensions Add to New York Fiscal Woes

Cops and firefighters working till 62-65 isn't a good idea. Heart/Lung/stress related health issues. That's why generally their pensions are pretty good at 55-58 yoa so that 75%-80% of their pay will sustain them through 78 yoa as inflation eats into it over the next 20 years. But 40 yoa or...

lol, I guess it reads that way. EUR/USD below 1.22 significant to me... almost touched, rip might be hard n fast, that's all. (still either way) :D

or stop run to poke it higher. watching EUR/USD though as it's close to that 1.22 area; bounce up or break down? Looking for the bounce.

Padded Pensions Add to New York Fiscal Woes

Perspective... I'm dealing with this problem from the opposite side of the fence. I agree that the example cited is outrageous. However, during public employee pension discussions people often lump us all together. My commissioners for example are taking heat and expected to cut my pension...

Add to that the ability of PPT to "blame it on EU -- it's not US" and you have the makings of a major summer correction just so the politicos can come back in "saving the day &401k" in Sept/Oct for Nov elections.

Multiple hourly bars now give "feeling" (bad word I know) that EUR/USD has indeed found support short term. So far continuing it's bounce from double bottom 5/19 and today and may well assist ES up. (only typed to temper my short bias)

Just saw this... I'm the 2 year noob, no epiphany yet, day job etc... This was trend/channel formation and trying not to be greedy. Went with short term trend for about the middle of the morning channel area (50'ish) when price didn't break out. Generally, I need at least 10:35-10:45 est out...

EURUSD keeps making lower hourly touches. Also fell out of little three (3) day up trend. It might be one of the ropes on this ES bull's horn holding it back. Bank holiday issue?

:( add was canceled because of EUR/USD dip too far below 1.25. However, initial was stopped out. Yes, should have stopped entire trade and looked for better entry so I was better positioned to allow for stop runs from 57 to 51 area.
