Multiple timeframes are great, if that works for you. Whatever helps you get reasonable risk is all that matters.

15 minute chart only. I use the all sessions chart. The "first hour" of day begins at 3:30 CST.

Everyday is different, Thunderdog. All stops based on volatility. Initially, never more than 8 ticks. Always trailing market, too. When volalility is low, I get 2-3 trades. On days when it's high, I can get as many as 6 or so. I agree weeman, the 30 minute is even better. Just...

I guess this thread is testimony to the # of people on this site who are daytraders......... If you're one of the lone few who aren't, please speak up. H's/L's or closes in your analysis of price on longer timeframe charts?

Looking for some input from those who take longer term positions in futures contracts based solely on price analysis. Specifically, those of you who make use of weekly and daily bar/candle charts as part of your analysis. What's more important to your analysis, h's/l's or closes, and why?

No props in the Bay area. Small # of private traders here as well. So Cal has more props and private trading community is much larger.

I'm a day trader. I trade only between 9:30-11:30 EST. I never place a trade past 11:30, I will stick around to manage a position, though. 1-2 trades per day. No more. Less is more for me. :) :) :)

I day trade ES. My stops are based on the volatility present in the market at the time the trade is placed. Thus, they're always different.

I look for a move in my direction immediately, or I'm out. I do not hesitate to re-enter, however. Sometimes it will take me 3 times before I get it right, but my R:R more than compensates for these small losers.......
