    Worst Drawdown?

I think this will be highly dependent on your trading style and how important trade execution is to your strategy. Are you a scalper/short-term trader or trading on a higher time frame? In engineering, there is a term called a "design factor" which is a fudge factor that allows you to account...

    UNG Play...

The double bottom forced me to unload the un-hedged portion of my position, but I'm still holding the July 11/12 vertical. SHORT TERM OUTLOOK: ------------------------------ The chart pattern is starting to show a possible short-term sell signal (basically the opposite of the buy setup), so...

There is a lot of "professional jealousy" in the option forums

Ratings are useless... This is quite true. You only actually see the thread rating if you view it on the forum page. If (like me), you typically jump to threads from the elite trader home page, you never see them.

    One Trade at a Time

It might be more beneficial to set a daily loss limit (at which point you stop trading) rather than a profit target (which you can't really control). Besides, if you've got a hot hand, why cut yourself short? Also, the target will probably put unnecessary pressure on you, which undoubtedly lead...

Need some pointers in gathering 5 min info from IB's API.

You're welcome. Also, if you're looking for more frequent updates of your bars, you might want to consider responding to the events from reqMktDataEx() instead of the real-time bars. These aren't true ticks (they are aggregate bars just like the 5-second bars, but they show up on the order of...

Need some pointers in gathering 5 min info from IB's API.

If you just need OHLC, why not just do a running comparison? You only need to keep the most recent 5-second bar. For example: At i=0 (start of a new bar), the 5-minute O=H=L=C = close of the most recent 5-second bar. At i=1, i=2, i=3, check the high and low of the most recent 5 second...

TOS can't even get EMA right

Nope, that sh*t happens to me pretty frequently. I've only seen it on futures charts, not equities. It seems to go away if I change the timeframe and then change back. Also, I think it has something to do with showing the extended session.

    Has anyone used TheOptionpro.com?

I'm guessing their success rate of "delivering" their alerts to their subscriber is probably about 87%, so I guess that's a legitimate statement. The actual content of their alerts is probably closer to 102% worthless.

Yeah, but you gotta feel sorry for the kids of these idiots.

Dammit, I ordered the 2010 indicator...no wonder it's not working.

lottery -> MCP May 50 puts

The current bid for the May 50P is $0.05, which equates to an unrealized 75% loss.

    looking to start trading futures

As a newbie, I would avoid oil and silver like the plague. I don't really follow copper/sugar, so I can't comment on those. I would look at one of the following: ES (SP500), TF (R2k), NQ (Nasdaq), 6E (Euro). If you trade during the US session, one nice thing is that you can find a proxy...

Trader Jeffs YM "Scalp" Trade Journal

Perhaps you might be willing to walk through your chart a bit? There's a lot going on and maybe you could share a few insights as to what everything is. You are one of the few people I've seen that have market profile, so I'm a bit curious on how that is used.

Broker ignoring wire transfer request--please advise...

If it is IB (and I'm guessing other brokers are similar), log on to your account and use the customer chat. I had an issue where a deposit wasn't being credited to my account, and it took about 5 minutes to figure out that it was something really stupid (transfer form said "wire" instead of...

Wasn't really paying attention this morning, but priced had not moved too far from the trigger point, so I'm in with the July 11 calls.

    Options Commissions

$14.95 is ridiculous. As mentioned, IB is quite cheap. ThinkOrSwim is more expensive than IB by a bit, but has a great platform for options. Even Fidelity is only $7.95 + a bit per contract. I think the IB deposit limit has risen a fair amount since I opened my account (it used to be $2k back...
