    BATS exchange data

I'm assuming you mean automatically generate orders to TWS? Unless they provide some sort of interface or API, I doubt it (it'd be a hack, anyway) but you may want to contact them to make sure (possibly they are working on it). BATS is just another ECN (based in Kansas). You can subscribe...

    Looking for web based charts

ProRealTimeCharts is a web charting package that is pretty nice. Real time data will cost you, though (looks on the order of a desktop platform + data...$100/month or so). End of Day is free and they offer a 7-day trial of the real time, so that might be worth a look. I'm pretty sure they...

    Options Fills on Bid/Ask Spreads

I guess I must be mis-understanding what you are trying to accomplish, but I don't claim to be an options expert by any means and when I sell something, it's usually just to capture theta or as the hedge part of a spread. Couldn't you do what you are trying to do with the nearer term LEAP (Say...

    Options Fills on Bid/Ask Spreads

Just out of curiosity, why do you want to own a LEAP that far out? Is it some component of a strategy, or are you just basically long-term bearish?

    Finally a buyable pullback.

I much prefer to be a little bit late to the party, myself.

Anybody having DDE issues with TOS?

I had a spreadsheet that was working just fine a couple days ago, and now when I try and link to it, Excel just hangs, even if I just set up a MarketWatch, copy to Excel, and then paste it in to fresh spreadsheet. Has anyone else had issues with this recently?

    Options Fills on Bid/Ask Spreads

Also be aware that depending on your broker and where you are routing, you may get dinged with a cancel/modify fee. Some are pretty minimal (BATS), others can be fairly hefty (NASDAQ). Just something to keep in mind if you are going to work your fills with a bunch of modified orders.

    Indicator Packages

Check out Thinkscripter and Big Mike. You have to be a donating member to get some of the stuff, but there's lots of free stuff there as well (I'm not sure how the donation stuff is because I didn't). I find TOS indicator programming a pain, but those sites have some good code that you can...

How to narrow down and choose the best?

As I typically trade options, I only like to look at stuff that does decent volume (1 mil min, usually 5 or higher) since the spread just sucks for the less liquid stuff. Obviously if you're trading shares, that's a moot point, but it's a decent starting point to start chopping. Also, I...

How I turned 5k to 10k in one week!

Yes, but this is basically like saying: "If you want to be healthy, you should exercise and eat well." Trading pullbacks in a trending market is not bad advice, but such wide generalizations don't really have much practical value, do they? As they say: "The devil is in the details..."

Is there a reason to EVER use IB SMART for Limit orders?

I typically trade options and I've noticed that BATS doesn't always have the best bid/ask prices, so that may be something to consider. BATS is pretty nice, though, especially if the bid/ask is fairly wide. A lot of the other exchanges have some pretty ridiculous cancel/modify fees which can...

How to tip like a 1 percenter

Even if you are the world's largest Craftsman tool, common sense would dictate that you not piss off someone who has the power to put "whatever" in your food... Also, Dwight has some good tipping guidelines. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WDo6luc_lMY

    Hedging your home...

I'm curious if anyone has any thoughts on how one might go about hedging the value of their home? Obviously you can play the general market with VNQ/IYR, etc, but how do you do it with a more regional flavor? Thanks for your input...

    Alternatives to Interactive Brokers??

I seem to recall that some of the delay is due to anti-money laundering regulations. It's been awhile since I've opened a non-IB account so I can't recall how long it took, but a week to fund an IB account is not out of the ordinary. Perhaps they have stricter guidelines that they follow...
