No. You dont pay interest in that situation. Watch your leverage value. If lev <= 1 then no margin interest.

Try entering with only a few shares, like 20, 30 or 50 at most. Much less stress while learning. with a broker like IB the cost is minimal and worth paying while getting experience. One should probably not do this with thinly traded stks. ... rj

StockGirl .... Often SNDK will often have lots of quick turns intraday with volume 3 to 10 mil shs a day. CTX and some of the other homebuilder stks can present some action intraday also. Right now they are especially sensitive to econ news. ...rj

Probably several reasons including the sh price difference. For last Friday.... Calculating percentages comparing price chg to open price for each stk ...... Goog = 0.36% change and Intc = 1.66%. So actually, percentage wise, Intc fluctuated more than 4 times Goog! For Goog to get the 1.66%...

Looks like they have minimum volume requirements in order to get those rates.
