    Trading Illiquid LEAPS @ mid

Didn't want to start a war. Maybe I'll just go with something more liquid and roll it.

    Trading Illiquid LEAPS @ mid

Thanks, I'll give it a shot. Looking to lever up a little and the implied financing rate is pretty attractive on the LEAPS.

Is it hard for traders to get loans/credit?

Unless the loan is unusually large, they'll just average your last two years tax returns and that's your income. No big deal. I'm speaking about mortgages. For most other consumer credit, they rarely verify income anyway and do it based on credit history. For landlords, the tax returns will...

best option strategy for my quant stock trading system?

My advice, find a way to get the appropriate leverage you need to do it in the underlying rather than the options. The spreads on the options are going to be a huge deal breaker. Also, if you haven't already, make sure that your universe includes delisted stocks. If not, your backtest results...

    Trading Illiquid LEAPS @ mid

Any tricks to buying DITM leaps anywhere close to mid? Looking at 2 year BRK/B 60 calls, but the spread is $2 wide. Atticus, I'm at your mercy.

Tradrer who wants to go solo

You'd have to be crazy to leave a job on a desk earning 300k GBP a year to only make 20% on 500k USD. Or am I misreading your post and you're going to trade your account in addition to the bank job?

It will say something like "Margin at 15%" in the Account window.

    Interactive Brokers Portfolio Margin

The 15% is not going to happen unless you're running a very diversified portfolio. You're going to be getting effectively 3:1 if you've only got a handful of stocks. No relief for long/short single stocks. They call it a surcharge for concentrated portfolios. The dividing line between...

XP Pro or Windows 7 ?

Changing the CPU cores/displays/ram breaks the license keys. Full retail versions of OS just re-authorize. But (cheap) oem xp licenses are locked to hardware and only authorize once

XP Pro or Windows 7 ?

Vmware Fusion for Mac. Apparently works with Win 7/8. I'm happy with XP but the VM keeps breaking the OEM windows licensing whenever I change something, so I'm shopping for a full retail OS pkg.

XP Pro or Windows 7 ?

WinstonTj, would you make the same recommendation if the proposed OS is going to be running *inside* a VM? Host is OSX running VMware.

How to get the opening price?

You should have gotten the opening print if you had a valid OPG order and routed to NYSE. Everyone gets the same price at the opening auction. Now, whether your trade is large enough to affect the opening auction is a different issue. Go look at your confirm and see where the order...
