    Pattern Day Trade Rules

"Options are not technically subject to the SEC/NASD daytrading rules. However each house can apply the rules as they see fit." [TM Direct] See this thread. I think that the email reply I received from O-X was saying that NASD has jurisdiction over the brokers, not the exchanges, so NASD...

    Pattern Day Trade Rules

Oh, never mind that. DEF's just grumbling about pro-O-X comments being posted on his employer's site. "Fee, Fi, Fo Fum" Can't really blame him; he knows which side his bread is buttered on.

customer respect at IB versus O-X

FX-T, if you're addressing that comment to me, well, I think that's what I said: "my equity options business is going back to O-X" I was already an O-X customer before I became an IB customer.

    PDT question ...

Could someone please give me an example of how this could happen? Aphexcoil, the date I most frequently see referenced is Sept/Oct-2001. Bidmasterx, TechAnalysis -- most of the "expert" commentary I've seen says that the actual pressure for PDT rules wasn't about protecting investor, but...

customer respect at IB versus O-X

I've said nothing to dispute that, and wouldn't. After all, there are reasons I too became a customer. There are legitimate criticisms to be made of the trading experience at IB, but I don't think anyone complains about the costs or the fills. But that's not what I've been posting about in...

    btw, fyi, it's "den-I-grate", and "ad nause-A-m". :D :p

customer respect at IB versus O-X

I'm not trying to promote anything except a reasonable level of consideration for customers. I'm citing O-X only because that's the only basis I have for comparison -- and a pretty telling one, at that. I've never seen anyone making the kinds of complaints about O-X that you see on IB's own...

IB example #2 . . . ----- Original Message ----- To: <help@interactivebrokers.com> Sent: Friday, October 18, 2002 11:30 AM Subject: why can't I "Close Position"? I hold one position, an equity option spread currently valued for less than $100. I can't "leg" out of it due to margin...

customer respect at IB versus O-X

Now, an example of my experience with O-X: this email was a follow-up to a chat session where O-X corrected an erroneous trade for me -- AT NO CHARGE. [Current IB customers, can you imagine IB doing this AT ALL?!] ----- Original Message ----- From: <info@optionsXpress.com> Sent...

customer respect at IB versus O-X

First, a recent thread from IB's boards. [There are *lots* of people on EliteTrader's boards, and on IB's, who tell of similar experiences -- and worse.] Posted on Thursday, October 17, 2002 - 02:56 pm by "asdfasdf": ----------------------------------------------------------------...

Pattern Day Trading options no problem at OptionsXpress

"I am guessing the reason why OX says no PDT rule is that you are not opening a stock margin account. IB has you trade options from a stock margin account . . . OX can never offer options and stocks together because of that." If IB wanted to badly enough, they could segregate the accounts...

O-X also told me today that they can now trade spreads completely automatically (no manual intervention on the floor) at ISE *and* CBOE . . . [I've munged the email addresses to foil spammers.] ----- Original Message ----- To: OptionsXpress Customers Sent: Friday, October 18, 2002...
