Dead on. Size matters. Sometimes it's a hindrance. Remoras thrive on stuff that couldn't sustain sharks.

Odd-Lot Short Sales on the rise

Sorry, Mac! Do you have a link for the "preview" page? I just looked, and can only find a couple of "Learn More" links that go to info for WSJ, not Barron's.

bc, what are the typical holding periods? And are the picks "black-box", or do they come with a plausible rationale?

Odd-Lot Short Sales on the rise

trdrmac, (or anyone who now has or used to have Barron's online), Did you have the impression that back-issues (or selected data from them) are *supposed* to be available online? And if so, then for how far back? TIA

Don't mention it. I'll get back to you in a day or two, after I've had a chance to look through some back issues. Thanks.

    QQQ V Nas/SP levels

It would help if you could describe the end result you want to achieve. If you're merely trying to determine how much the underlying is over-/under-priced relative to the futures, I believe that some feeds -- perhaps yours -- provide that directly.

    QQQ V Nas/SP levels

I think that doing it in Excel would be a waste of time. If you just look at the closing prices, you can do the math in your head. For the Qs, $1 = 40.xxx NDX points, and $1 SPY = 9.9xxx S&P points. The exact value drifts over time, so you need to check it periodically. Over the last 12...

    while waiting SSF to improve...

-- re PDT, from the replies I've received from various securities orgs and regulatory agencies, it appears that the PDT issue is not the SEC but rather NASD. And while NASD putatively doesn't have authority over futures per se, it's not too much of a stretch to imagine that NASD might say to...

    Dual monitors so simple

Dry your pants, nitro, thats not what I meant. :D It's now apparent that by "we" you meant "humanity". Ironically, it was your use of "we" which made me wonder who might be the "they" who had dual AGP. Howsomever . . . -- iirc, 3dLabs was talking about it 2-3 years ago; -- there's a...

Odd-Lot Short Sales on the rise

Actually, that may be good news. If the Market Lab pages are online in any kind of image format, then they can be OCR'd. Text-format would be better, but not essential. Trdrmac -- I'm willing to subscribe to the electronic edition *if* it contains all the data from the hardcopy edition...

Odd-Lot Short Sales on the rise

Are you sure it's not available in the electronic edition (which I've never seen)? If all else fails, I suppose I could pay a drone to run this large stack of old issues through a scanner and OCR.

anyone else getting hokey SPX or NDX futures quotes from IB lately?

Sorry, I don't know what you mean. If IB has multiple servers which service TWS, I'm not aware of any way the user can determine which server is handling the current TCP session. The best I could do from my side would be to determine the IP address and port.

Odd-Lot Short Sales on the rise

I need a dope-slap. A few months ago, I saw a page of links to financial data, and one of them was for someone who has been manually copying boocoo Barron's data for years. Yes, that's right, I never bookmarked it. Just spent the last hour googling for it unsuccessfully.

What cache? If you mean the browser cache, I don't think that "regular" TWS uses it. The problem happens on both versions. Already tried rebooting. btw, I know of at least one other person who's seeing the same thing.

anyone else getting hokey SPX or NDX futures quotes from IB lately?

For the last two days, every trade for SPZ2 and NDZ2 at CME has been in an exact multiple of 111 contracts, and the total volume is always a multiple of 1100. It also happens on the browser version of TWS.
