Venezuela oil 'may double Saudi Arabia'

Thanks, Misthos. I had skimmed the article at the Oil Drum at http://www.theoildrum.com/node/3868 before your post. A couple of the conclusions of the article are that it seems unlikely that production will exceed 2X to 3X the current rate and the Bakken will have only a minor effect...

Venezuela oil 'may double Saudi Arabia'

The US Geological Survey at http://www.usgs.gov/corecast/default.asp?CurPage=9&tag=&ID= Episode 38 says that there is 3.65 billion barrels of technically recoverable oil. That may be different than what makes commercial sense.

Venezuela oil 'may double Saudi Arabia'

I don't know whether to believe the email below. Would someone please give me their comments? THIS IS AMAZING AND THE BACKUP PROOF IS AT THE END!!! I was blown away after I read this. We must take our government back. Billy Don To: 912Project...

    bankruptcy question

It seems to me that there are two issues being mixed here. If you declare bankruptcy, you are required to disclose all your assets and liabilities, whether held personally, as a sole proprietor or in your corporation. In a situation, other than bankruptcy, a creditor could sue and perhaps...

CL futures - experienced tape reader please read

On December 23/09, CL G0 was in consolidation from 10:30 eastern until pit closing. The range was basically from 76.50 to 76.00. It is unusual for CL to be in that tight of a consolidation for so long. That showed most traders had gone home. The market was not interested in doing anything...

OK, I quit, enough is enough, no more trading!

Well, BSAM, I am sure that you believe in Santa Claus and the tooth fairy as well.

OK, I quit, enough is enough, no more trading!

BSAM - The next sentence is "One tricky thing: I don't do what I should do" That does not change the thread. He has posted two threads - One boasting that when he sits in front of his computer he knows what he is doing and another saying he is quitting. I could be wrong but it seems...

OK, I quit, enough is enough, no more trading!

See my post above on this thread at 5:45 on page 2. The post was copied from Pschology - The 10,000 rule. BP says " Now I sit down in front of the monitor and know exactly what I should do."

OK, I quit, enough is enough, no more trading!

Under the Pschology heading - The 10,000 hour rule. See my post above as to what he said. He posts here supposedly baring his soul and posts elsewhere bragging about what a good trader he is.

OK, I quit, enough is enough, no more trading!

Redneck - You say that you respect BP's honesty. However, he posted in Pyschology - The 10,000 rule saying he was a successful trader. I may be mistaken but I think BP is full of it.

OK, I quit, enough is enough, no more trading!

BP – Is there not a post from you in Psychology – The 10,000 hour rule that includes the following? BPtrader Registered: Jan 2009 I have already gone through the pains, so I cannot go back and find out if it is better to start with a mentor looking over your shoulder. But I believe...

    The 10,000 hour rule.

RMB - Most people can become doctors, lawyers, etc. Assuming that most wannabe traders are smart enough, it is only a matter of doing the work; putting in the time and eventually you graduate. Trading is very different. Like most people I looked for a Guru. I think that I found the person...

    The 10,000 hour rule.

If you spend 50 hours a week for a year, that would be approximately 2,500 hours a year. 10,000 hours would be 4 years. Based on my experience and that of other traders that I know, most people do not become consistently profitable in 4 years. Realistically, I think it takes 10 years...

    ICE Brent Crude Futures

The volume for the January futures contract for Brent crude futures , symbol EBFO, from DTN for Monday, November 16 was 62,159 contracts. The ICE website shows total volume of 252,863 for the monthly Brent crude for the same day. I am trying to understand the reason(s) for the large...

    30 year Treasury

I am tempted by the long runs of the 30 year Treasury bond, symbol ZB. The swings are close to twice the size of the swings of the 10 year Note, symbol ZN. However, the 30 year bond trades in whole points compared to half points on the 10 year Note and the volume is considerably less...

    Momentum

Momentum indicator – Is there such a thing as a high odds momentum indicator? We all want our entries to go a couple of ticks in our favor so that we are not faced with an immediate loss. I am not interested in moving average crossovers or stochastics or other indicators that follow...

    30-Year T-bond Tick Increases to 1/32nd on August 30, 2009

I know this is changing the subject slightly but I would appreciate it if someone would answer my questions. I have asked CME personnel but I can never get an answer. Is the 30 year bond, symbol US, the only pit traded U.S. bond contract? Is the volume of pit traded contracts recorded...
