    They are known to have the best trading classes in Chicago. Also, the owner, Mickey Hoffman knows everyone on both floors. A lot of people that take the classes and stick around to get to know Mickey end up getting trading jobs out of it.

    Does anyone know if NYSE specialists are required to fill your market orders if they are sent by the close (i.e. 3:59:45) ? Is there a limit to the size they are required to fill (relative to the day's volume, average volume, etc.) Thanks.

    Schonfeld or Spike Info

    Spike is predominately a futures and cme clearing firm. Stock trading is available through Andover. Both Prop. and retail traders. Schoenfeld is strong nationally, and specifically in NY, but I don't know much about their Chicago operations.

    market vs. limit nyse orders...

    Does anyone know if NYSE specialists give preferences to market or limit orders? Or are they all simply time priority. The limit orders I am talking about are obviously ones through the inside market. Thanks.

    Also, coming from a floor trading background, if 40% of thr trades are short term traders, it is usually a good indication of a relatively good trading market ( supply/demand of locals)

    Are you talking about the firm or the trader? I know firms that pay 0 for island executions. You shouldn't be paying anything for island executions unless you have a great base rate.

    I heard that the SEC has doubled the SEC tax in the last couple of months on stock trades. Does anyone know what the actual percentage per dollar value of a trade actually is now? Thanks...
