Prop firm, no Series 7, yes k1

That's a good change that wasn't there 2 years ago. Can a trader choose not to take his Series 7 and continue paying the simple flat fee of $500?

Prop firm, no Series 7, yes k1

You forgot to mention that the commissions rate is .0125 per share if you don't have a S7 at Bright. You would have a lot more traders if you lowered the rate to be competitive with a retail broker like IB.

[IB] Freezing your account for their benefit

Your title is a joke because you're the one who screwed up. Should be like "My IB account frozen because I'm too stupid to fill out a wire form" I've wired money out of my IB account over 10 times in the few years and got the money in my bank the same day when done in the morning. IB...

Bright vs. Genesis vs. Tuco vs. xEcho ?

Cre8UrF8 is correct. Bright charges .01 cent a share for the first 1000 shares and .004 cent a share for anything above it each trade. A ticket is a trade. Most traders trade clips of less than 1000 so the real commission is .01 which is worst than Interactive Brokers (.005) which is a...

    Which is executed first

Yeah, if there was an aggressive buyer in a stock, you will never see either bid hit regardless of the spread. One would assume the OP meant in normal market conditions.

    Which is executed first

Suppose I was exiting my position in both stocks. If the spread was small like Stock A, I would just sell on the bid. If the spread was big like B, I would put an offer below the ask. Makes sense?

Who gets the "Props" for training..?

Hi Verick, Here is a great thread on the Bright Trading training. http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=63056 If you want to learn how to trade consistently. It will either take. 1. Many many years, read lots of trading books, studying markets, losing lots of money...

Did someone blow out at Bright?

Yep, except for those Bright traders who shorted Google on their first earnings, blew out their accounts and Bob had to close out their positions the next morning on the huge gap up.

    IB Stop Order Changed

Thanks, I just found that there is an offset in the options and it defaulted to 1. It was always 0 before they added this option so they should've set it to 0 by default.

    IB Stop Order Changed

I use IB and I think they're one of the best brokers I've used. When putting in my stops, I set the price, then change my order from LMT to STP, then transmit. Recently my stops have not been triggered and I look at the price is 1 point lower than where I set it. The first few times, I...

Anyone else get unusual MOC fills with IB?

Use a limit order? I think everyone has gotten killed with the slippage with a market order before especially in a volatile market.

Anyone else get unusual MOC fills with IB?

http://finance.yahoo.com/q/bc?t=1d&l=on&z=m&q=l&p=&a=&c=&s=ach ACH was not anywhere near 43 at the close looking at the chart. Yahoo Finance says ACH closed at 42.51 and GME closed at 39.21. Looks like it's working correctly.

IBKR opens @ 50 or so.

I'm still holding my 1100 shares. Going to risk the 2.5 points to the IPO price that this thing will go up. Trading is about managing risk and I think it's a good bet. Either this IPO is going to be a break even or a 10+ point winner for me. A 100 share flipper isn't going to affect my...
