So why not go in the direction of the trend line (in this case, long), at least for a scalp? From what you say, it should be rewarding, with good risk control.

    ES Journal - 2013

In the last posts you looked as if you were risking too much on these shorts. If I may give an advice, be careful because of two main possible dangers: - hidden information which can move markets much higher; - big players "clearing" the market from shorts before a big drop, just as it happened...

Why Do People Buy At A Top?

Another important reason: they have material information for doing that. I believe now there is some information around that is known to big players, which pushes markets up. In another thread, I supposed an increase in QE. Just a guess.

    QE increase announcement soon?

I think it's not really a stock issue (stocks are manipulated), but a real economy data issue, which seems to be deteriorating already.

Why Do People Buy At A Top?

"Obviously" the market was at a top when this thread started. But now we are higher. So, people who bought at the "top" have made money. This should be a response to the thread starter.

    QE increase announcement soon?

This I understand seeing EUR/USD up, USD/JPY up, stocks up. Let's see.

Why Do People Buy At A Top?

Most trading systems have at least one rule which says "buy at the top" or "sell at the bottom" of a certain time period. The Turtles did just this, with some money management. This rule alone has been very profitable in 1980-2000 years, on a futures portfolio. Aberration did something...

David Tepper "Fed is not going to cut stimulus near term"

    (3) FED (and probably BCE,BOJ,and other central banks) manipulation of markets, probably in an agreement with major market players (Goldman Sachs, Soros...) By the way, Tepper had made an estimate of how much money investors had kept aside of market and would be forced to put in it again in...

David Tepper "Fed is not going to cut stimulus near term"

Could be,but consider that: - the financial community looks for those who do that, and they lose credibility. It's better to take a position according to your forecasts, then tell publicly what you think(as Soros did for gold this year) - it's the 3rd time Tepper says markets will go up for this...

David Tepper "Fed is not going to cut stimulus near term"

I'm quite sure they won't be able to keep QE at these levels. It's a drug and like all drugs it will need to increase to keep the same effects. As far as I can see, macroeconomic data are deteriorating as time passes, and QE is there at the same levels. Are you sure that in the end market will...

    ES Journal - 2013

I think it's a great value in a trader the ability of standing hope and bore for long time without doing nothing and/or changing perspective.

IMHO the FTSE100 long steady decline is quite impressive.

WARNING ALERT, Oct 1-4 Beginning of collapse 80%

So, where was the calamity in 1-4 October? Though this must be a joke, I think the scenario pictured by OP is the only way to get out of this mess. The best way for everyone.

    Deep discounts through Dorman

There is another aspect with CQG which can influence your latency a lot: their policy in assigning servers to customers (this is independent of the platform you use with CQG). They have many servers around the world, and for each customer they store a preferred server location for order...

    Deep discounts through Dorman

Apologies for what? They didn't list this option because they didn't know about it before I asked, as I saw with DDT and most of FCMs and nearly all IBs. CQG FIX is quite unknown, maybe because its optional data feed is very costly (1000$ / month minimum), so you have to find market data...

    Deep discounts through Dorman

The CQG option you list is for CQG Trader. If you use CQG FIX (without market data) you add $0.05 per side ending up at 3.32 r/t all in for ES. Fixed monthly cost for this option is just 10$. Very interesting in my opinion, many thanks to tiddlywinks for pointing out this offer.

Shorts: get over it. The government won't shut down. It never does.

The only real volatility I saw was in yen which was heavily manipulated by BOJ. As to the public,it's normal that after bearing losses with long positions on stocks, they stay away from them or seek insurance.Doesn't matter if they hedge with an advisor or they just don't buy anything. So the...
