Which Prop requires less than $5,000 deposit?

Mr. ceo2008 it seems that if you have less then $5,000 to put down at a Prop shop then your other choice is. Join Prop shop where you are an employee and your income will be from % of money that you can make for the firm. At least with this NO MONEY DOWN deal you can train/learn and hopefully...

    IB is Refco 2.0!

Its interesting you say this above because the best line in the markwatch story was: "As a practical matter, since Mr. Peterffy owns approximately 85% of Interactive Brokers, he would have been exposed to nearly as much of the loss if he had not purchased the claims." Mr. Peterffy is...

    Hedge fund seeking strategy

Confused on the original question. Not trying to "FLAME" hedgefund guy but are you looking for: 1. Trader with a system to sell you OR 2. Traders for you to hire who would trade the firm's capital.

    ECHOTrade

Agreed with opt 789 many different #'s being throw around. What comes across as ODD/unusual is this: At ECHO why some traders get different leverage to start. One says 100:1, other one says 30:1 while others gets 10:1. The different amount of leverage being offer would be justified if...

    ECHOTrade

Mr. Chiguy I tip my hat to you that you started out trading low volume and worked you way to larger volume and more profits. However, No need to make a dumb comment like: if you want a set rate...go work for minimum wage somewhere... at least you know you are all in the same pay...

Is it possible to set up own prop and borrow from banks?

If one can start his own LLC within a Prop firm then they can increase their leverage greater than 4:1. If not a broker/dealer or exchange member no series 7 is needed.

    ECHOTrade

Mr. Chiguy. All I saying is when I put $50k down I do not want to be limited to just 10:1. One HUGE benefit of Prop is good leverage. Other than commish rate what traders leverage is will be most important to him. AND WHY does trader have to negotiate constantly with Prop owner? If...

    ECHOTrade

That's disappointing to hear. At 10:1 total I only get $500k even if my deposit is $50k. They do have good low commish rates. Looks like they are limited how much trader can lose by limiting big positions and low overnight totals.

    Very Basic economics question.

To answer OP question: China sends more goods to US while US sends $ over to China. Since China has money piling up they then looks for highest yielding or safest place to invest all their excess dollars. Since US govt needs to borrow money US issues bonds to whomever has excess dollars...

My Experience at a Prop Firm

Got it: So new trader gets a rate of say (.01). Trader can get it reduced to say (.005) or whatever: If he pumps up the volume to a sufficient # of share. If not then he's in the MAV doghouse.

    Online brokers

Mr. UNLV running rebel. If new at online trading best at first to stay away from free trading accounts. If you have question about your account could take awhile. Scottrade ($7) and TD ameritrade ($10) both flat rate. Both have good customer service if you have a question.
