    14 monitor setup

Looks like the USB video card idea isn't a very dependable one. I had my displays go off while it redetected the DisplayLink adapters in the middle of stuff I was doing. Unacceptable for trading, in my opinion. Also, with the usb display adapters it takes (I timed it) 4 minutes to finish...

    Charting software offering gradeint backgrounds?

Wow, cool. Hi Jerry. When do you think you will this available to use? Also, what real time data providers will it work with? I'm looking at trading currencies, will it work with a FXCM feed by chance?

    Charting software offering gradeint backgrounds?

I used to use QuoteTracker, which has gradient blue to black as the default background setting. I am so used to doing charts with a nice gradient, that I almost need it to do charting effectively. An example of what the QuoteTracker gradient looks like...

    14 monitor setup

Yup, depends on trading style I believe. And personal preference on how to view a chart for example. I like one chart on a monitor generally, as I can see the history better. Second monitor might be the same time frame, same chart, just zoomed in so I can see just the last few minutes. Something...

    14 monitor setup

Be aware the third monitor on the top is a bit hard to see, if you have the space to expand horizontally I'd stick with two high. But if you want a nice tall wall of monitors, this one does the trick. :D

    14 monitor setup

For anyone reading this thread, I got them on ebay. Just search "Triple LCD Monitor Desk Stand". They were 85.89 each shipped.

The adapter is the 21.99 item. Those make it so you can hook it into your desk stand in the desk stands VESA holes. VESA is just a fancy word for holes that are either 75mm apart or 100mm apart (used on larger monitors). So you have to buy a desk stand that is VESA compatible (all are)...

    Card to support 4 monitors

No you don't drill holes. You click it into the desk mount on the monitor after screwing it into the VESA desk stand for dual monitors or such. It simulates the factory stand.

Those mounts I linked do work with VESA, so technically they can be mounted by VESA with that device for 21.99. Why not get a matching set of 4?

    Card to support 4 monitors

It's showing 108.60 shipped for me, but that's a lot of money for a mount per monitor.

So, shipped, with vesa mount hardware they are 156.45 per monitor.

ftp://ftp.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_electronics/esuprt_Display/dell-st2421l_User%27s%20Guide_en-us.pdf Picture of the back doesn't show mount holes, though maybe it has them hidden somehow. :D Actually, no it doesn't have them, but there is a way to make it mount apparently...

    14 monitor setup

Well, after having this setup a few days I have to admit having each monitor tilted toward the chair really got oppressive. It felt messy. I tilted them all straight so they are all edge to edge and even. Looks a lot better now. For anyone with a lot of monitors I recommend this. Viewing angle...

1 of the monitors? EDIT: Try searching by zip code, and see if there are any locally too. Oh, and if they do have them, pay cash and maybe they can't track it. They might not have the limit on 1 per customer through the stores though. If worst comes to worst, newegg has that model too, for...

    Card to support 4 monitors

While both my 21.5" and 23" displays do this, no way to know for sure if the 27" has the same issues. But if you buy them locally, you can always return them. Mine are slightly older models, with 14ms response time. The model you linked is 5ms response time (better for movies and such). So maybe...

    Card to support 4 monitors

Ok, time to talk quirks. I have 12 of these LG monitors. If you run the monitor off of HDMI straight to HDMI, when your computer goes into power save mode for the monitor (I have mine set to 5 minutes when not trading), the display says "No signal detected". Then it turns COMPLETELY off... like...

    Card to support 4 monitors

While there are advantages to having a monitor with displayport, I'd say DVI is definitely good enough, I don't see a disadvantage to using DVI only. You can adapt to DVI from displayport, so no reason to spend the extra for a monitor with a new enough design to integrate displayport. The active...
