    Case suggestions

Looks like those Antec Three Hundred Two's are in stock at our local Micro Center, I might give them a look tomorrow. Interesting how they have a fan mount under the cpu, to cool it from the back, or so it appears. One thing I don't particularly like about that way of mounting hard drives is...

    Case suggestions

Wow that Siverstone is cool looking... I can't figure out where the power supply goes in it though? On the top? I'm going to complete air cooling, the self-contained water cooler really didn't seem to work very well. It sort of worked, but it didn't perform well. I even had it with push-pull...

    Case suggestions

I'm looking at buying a new case, any tips or suggestions? I'm replacing my heatsink, I had a corsair self-contained water cooler, but it wasn't keeping my temps low enough with my 8 core 4ghz AMD processor. The model not working well is the Corsair H60. I'm looking at putting a Frio...

    Card to support 4 monitors

Yeah, crossfire is combining the two cards to act as one. If you enable it, you will get the functions of one card. Least, that's how it was when I tried a crossfire setup for gaming, it disabled the second card completely to use it for extra ram and gpu's.

    Card to support 4 monitors

I plugged my hub in on the back, so it wasn't loose cables I don't think. I think it could be just usb technology itself isn't reliable, when transmitting a lot of data. I've seen random disconnects on other things too in the past (on other computers), like external hard drives. This computer...

Anyone tried x1 to x16 converters for PCI Express?

Do you mean AMD? Not AMP? I couldn't find any card with AMP. The Radeon 7950's burn a lot of power, I'd have to agree, if that is the card you are talking about. I'm surprised they could even make such a card work on a x1 slot.

    Card to support 4 monitors

Mine were usb 3.0 versions, so maybe this was a factor, but it was doing it to me at random. I rarely, if ever, plug a usb device in, so I know it wasn't related to that. It could have been the USB 3.0 hub causing the problem, but I sort of doubt it. I had to get a 4 port hub to run them. I...

    Card to support 4 monitors

I don't know if its the chipset revision on the particular ones I got, but I ran six of my displays from USB and had the problem that occasionally they would shut off and come back on, and unfortunately when it did this it would blank all the screens while it reinitialized. Very disconcerting if...

How many monitors for currency trading?

Who's shooting blanks? And having a big ego isn't really known to make a person money. Markets tend to fix a persons ego pretty fast.

How many monitors for currency trading?

It's reassuring to know that one monitor does the trick for people. Many had at most 2 monitors back in the day, and traded quite actively. I think the reason people have a lot of monitors is partly due to the cheapness of it nowadays. It's so convenient to have more monitors. But is it...

Wondered if someone would comment on the same chart being used for the picture. If you read the post above it you'll see I'm working on getting it set up. And no I'm not a beginner.

They look nicer with charts on them. Had to get FirePro 2460's, in addition to my Radeon with a Displayport hub to run them.

Anyone tried x1 to x16 converters for PCI Express?

Looks like ebay has an interesting variation on this idea. http://www.ebay.com/itm/PCI-e-express-1X-to-1-16x-Riser-Extender-Card-with-molex-power-ribbon-Cable-/281167682998?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4176e65db6 Wonder how that'd work?

    Cheap DualPort Workstation Video Cards

Yeah, it'll do that no problem, but if you try to run it WITH a 2460 you might have an issue because they aren't the same driver package.

    Cheap DualPort Workstation Video Cards

The 2260's are out of date, though. The driver is from 2012, vs 2013 on the 2270's.

    Cheap DualPort Workstation Video Cards

Just a note, for anyone considering buying these to go with a 2460, they use different drivers. When you install the drivers for them they downgrade the 2460 drivers to an older version that doesn't work right. I'll mess with it more, but you may not be able to get both to work together...

Anyone tried x1 to x16 converters for PCI Express?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815158223 They look like they'd let you run a FirePro on them, when mounted with a low profile mount.
