Is watercooling a trading system a bad idea?

Yikes, don't use clear plexiglas. I found a video of a leak... not from a hose, but from a crack in the plexiglas cpu cooler itself. Looks like it came from a slightly over tightened screw that eventually fractured the plastic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRLEOg0R7HU

Is watercooling a trading system a bad idea?

But I'd still feel safer with a hose clamp I can make really tight, after sticking it over barbs. What really worries me is that I don't turn my computer off... what if it leaked when I wasn't there. That's a lot of computer components fried.

Hmm, on closer inspection these fittings actually might stay tight. I've never found a picture with someone assembling them, but I just checked a manufacturers web site and I guess they screw tight, not just tension fit.

Is watercooling a trading system a bad idea?

That's my main concern, I don't like that most of the fittings are tension fit, in such a way that you can't put a clamp on them. Not the least reassuring. I feel like murphys law really applies on a trading computer, if something COULD go wrong, it most definitely will, and it will happen when...

Is watercooling a trading system a bad idea?

Sounds like pumps make a substantial humming, silent is true on my self-contained water cooler, but this one, yikes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgGFaW4xdrg Or this one, reminds me of a hard drive whine. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1rQnYH8780

Is watercooling a trading system a bad idea?

Looks like the two pumps work in series, so if one pump stops working correctly the second one continues to work, so a pump failure wouldn't be to problematic, in a trading situation.

Is watercooling a trading system a bad idea?

This pump/reservoir seems rather popular on the FT02 case builds I've seen. Mounts in two 5.25 inch bays. It also takes two high flow pumps mounted on the back. No tricky figuring out somewhere to mount reservoirs and pumps in the case, it's all in the drive bay...

Is watercooling a trading system a bad idea?

The more I look at water cooling, the easier and quicker to do it seems. Just get a pump/reservoir to mount into two 5.25" bays, cpu and graphics water blocks, a couple radiators, some tubing and corner fittings so you don't crimp the tubing. Then fill it with some distilled water through the...

Is watercooling a trading system a bad idea?

Kind of a neat device, but unfortunately I'm running multiple monitors, so I don't think it would work - if it were cheap.

Is watercooling a trading system a bad idea?

Or silentpcreview.com if you want to learn about silencing. There is something called underclocking, as an alternative solution for cooling a computer to reduce its noise. I'm not overclocking, I'm trying to make it silent while under load. These 8 core AMD processors seem to really heat up...

Is watercooling a trading system a bad idea?

I'm looking at this Silverstone FT02 case I ordered, and it looks like it allows you to put a very neat water cooling system in it, for near silent operation at full load. The system people use on this case is a huge 180mm x3 cooler, mounted on the bottom of the case on top of the 180mm fans. I...

Looks like a popular one is the Noctua brand heatsink. Made in Austria, looks pretty cool. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608018

With this much air flow, the Silverstone FT02 looks like it might make my water cooler work after all. Or maybe I'll get one of the Phanteks coolers instead of the Thermaltake Frio, the Phanteks models look massive. I ordered the Silverstone FT02 case, found it with a side window, usb 3.0...

http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1429251&page=185 185 pages of discussion of the Silverstone FT02. Lot of nice pictures of modified versions of the case, with different fans, different configurations of the fans, and some wicked watercooler setups. I saw some heatsinks that look...

And with the board mounted: To run 14 monitors, I'd have to get 10 mini-displayport extension cables, to run them over the top to the back of the case before connecting the DVI adapters. But to have something this fancy as a case, it could be worth it. Extension cables are cheap...

I think this silverstone case, even though it's $250 bucks, it warrants some investigation. What an interesting way to mount a motherboard. I've never seen anything like it.

Looks like the three hundred two is not a new version of the three hundred. The three hundred Illusion is the new version, according to Newegg. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129066 Nice of them to remove the hole I need to install the processor mounts on the back...

Anyone ever tried one of these? I've always fancied having a clear case. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811148001 Doesn't look like it has much cooling though.
