Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

The first 200 pages of this thread (just prior to the beginning of the great recession) and the last 200 pages of this thread are eerily similar in that posters are saying the exact same things. Maybe I should patent a new indicator: the ETZeroRisk Oscillator :D

Edge edge edge , what is it ?

Bob's definition of an edge is correct. You were describing a 'hard edge' in your post which is the exploitation of some sort of inefficiency in the marketplace which guarantees a positive return. The soes bandits were executing a hard edge, for example. There also used to be a well known hard...

Is trading Gambling or not .."What say You" Vote here.

Trading is not gambling. However, most 'traders' don't realize that they're gambling and not trading. Here is an example of actual trading: I own 1 million shares of a thinly traded stock which I would like to sell. How do I get out of my position at a fair price without the market selling-off...

Trudeau: U.S. Debt is Not Sustainable

For what it's worth, nobody in this country actually 'voted' in Trudeau directly - our election system is not like the US; we cannot cast a separate vote for prime minister. We vote only for local party members and by default, the leader of the party with the most votes becomes PM. Trudeau is...

Fundamentally, you have the right idea but trading the right idea at the wrong time is going to eat into your equity. When the mark-up is finished, the sell-off will come. However, in the interim, which is a worse kind of pain for you? a) the market trades to 2800 without a pullback and you’re...

Study: equities bear markets don’t start when real interest rates are this low

Right, but we are coming off of historically low interest rates kept artificially via monetary policy, so the rulebook is being rewritten. Fundamentally, there are already enough catalysts to take the market down, interest rates notwithstanding; therefore, the question is not whether asset...

... and sure enough, they were accumulating. Just over 2 billion in assets added to the balance sheet. To give some context, between April 11-18 the Fed were also net buyers (again accumulating 2 billion) but resumed their selling campaign the following week shedding almost 13 billion in the...

When the Fed releases their balance sheet later today for the last week (weds-weds), it wouldn't surprise me to see that they've been net accumulating. However, in this environment, every accumulation is just a precursor to the next big sale.

Yes. You've averaged in, okay good, now the trade turns around and starts going your way... so why not add a contract at your first target, second target, and dump them all at your third target, kind of thing? You can always back the add-ons with a stop if it makes you uncomfortable.
