    Is this Illegal?

ic, so if i was long ES in broker A individual acct, and short ES in a broker B managed acct of some type (or vice versa), that would be illegal, is that right? but for instance if i wanted to hold net positions in a situation where it's all my cap, where say i was long 10 in one acct, and...

    whats up with ER2?

looks like the info is all there: http://www.cme.com/trading/get/abt/priceband966.html "Based on the market state and trading activity, a Price Band Variation (PBV) will be applied both above and below the contract's reported reference price to establish the Price Band Variation Range...

    whats up with ER2?

exactly the type of scenario we'd all like to avoid. how are bust levels chosen ... is it discretionary on the part of the exchange, or does globex state this somewhere can i write a real-time bust price indicator or do the rules afford the cme leeway. i see this on the cme site...

    whats up with ER2?

sorry for the misunderstanding quah, i was referring to visiontraders comment wondering, what's an unreal order anyway lol. it's a little frustrating because i've been lucky ahead of a handful of spikes like this but never act on it, not wanting to risk a bust and still be short above the...

    whats up with ER2?

nasty. why the chip on your shoulder? of course they're real orders. question is where to draw the bust line. plenty of trades below 658.20 were 'real' orders too... shit traded down to like 653

Is IB making our orders & quotes compete with back-fill/charting bandwidth?

will do, thanks for clarifying the fixes. i got nailed on some missed fills while connectivity was down the second time and confounded issues. in general as ranges contract, executions play an increasing role here and i appreciate the attention/info on both fronts. thanks

Is IB making our orders & quotes compete with back-fill/charting bandwidth?

Thanks IB for all efforts wrt the faulty controller, i'm happy to return to rapid executions going forward. Samaritan's proactive attention and direct collaboration with me on the issue have been outstanding, and a fantastic support example. Thanks very much

Is IB making our orders & quotes compete with back-fill/charting bandwidth?

i can say this, since those features went down this afternoon, my chronic order acknowledgement and position column delays are 100% gone this afternoon, and things are consistently running as fast as I can ever recall. unmistakable difference.

    Trading bubble

we have to remember that substantial capital flows eagerly to the best players on the field. i think shops like jim simons and his 15,000 dimensional corr matrices, linux clusters, or whatever he's got 150 phd's working on are highly responsible for the vol issues. you're not fighting johnny...

    Trying to raise Money

alfa sprouts? j/k ... it's alpha. but seriously, if you have a resource like those guys, you're (and them too) much better served to learn what you're doing first, establish some sort of record, then solicit that great resource. not many people have people like that to ask, don't waste it...

    Trading E-Mini's

i get bored waiting for signals and scour et for rare valuable crumbs. what compels me to occasionally post are the people audaciously flaunting the lowest ratios of technical merit to ego. it's a terrible habit. sorry to take your thread off topic zeb, none of this is in reference to your...

    Trading E-Mini's

did you make any realtime calls? all i remember were after the fact manual backtested grail trades, and one very vague 'the market is going up today' posting before the fact. maybe i missed something skimming it. certainly didn't strike me as a credible record, especially since it was set up...
