I think if us OEX traders would start commenting on what contracts seem to be working right and which ones have extended delays we just might influence the efficiency down on the floor. Of course I am a very short term trader and I often cover a trade in 15-20 minutes so I do a lot of entering...

I traded 5 different OEX options contracts today. There were two contracts where the MM's were operating righteously and I was not only posted and filled promptly but even filled at better than my stated entry price on two occasions. I want to put this information out because most of the MM's...

My strategy is don't place them....... hunt them....... like a floor trader. However this may take a few years to get the hang of. But once you really know where they are you are in business. :D

As far as I know all the orders go through him only. He handles other brokers as well. That doesn't seem possible as there are many, many orders going in almost simultaneously. Consider 15-20 call contracts and the same number of put contracts and that just for March. I don't think one...

Are you trading any size? No. I usually trade 1 to 6 contracts. So are you saying that there is not a specific MM for each contract? My experience has been that each contract seems to trade somewhat differently therefore I assumed that different individual MM's were likely the reason.

I would just like to say I have been trading the OEYCH calls on the OEX for the past 2 days and the fills have been prompt and I have even been filled better than my limit order twice today. So I suspect there is an honest MM here and thought it's worth a comment..

just21, Well I traded both the OEX and ES options having about a $3.00 value today and you know I preffered the OEX. The OEX often had only a .10 spread between bid and ask while the ES usually had a spread of .30. Also the ES has higher comission rates but it seemed that you could...

just21, I traded ES futures for many years. The problem seems to be I get jumpy if price is jumpy and OEX price changes are slow therefore I stay cool. :cool:

Cancelations of orders are surprisingly swift taking generally only 1 or 2 seconds. However entering and waiting on fills is another time dimension all together and it varies rather wildly. Occasionally you do get an immediate fill and this seems to typically happen when your entry price...

I find or at least it seems that each contract trades and acts differently with the OEX options. Sometimes it's pretty good and your bid/ask etc. is posted up onto IB...TWS in just a few seconds than with another contract you try an enter your bid/ask and it won't post up until it's dangerous...
