    A UK/Ireland Traders Board?

gni CFDs are subject to downtick rules for US stocks. I asked specifically. Also the commiss. is quite high: 0.25% per side for UK and something like $0.08 per share for US per side! Q1

    A UK/Ireland Traders Board?

in the end you only have one way of not losing a lot of money at once - don't expose yourself to that risk in the first place. if putting on 1 e-mini ES/NQ contract makes you fretful over whether your connection with your broker will go down then either pay up to go with a broker with...

Anyone trading the DJ Eurostoxx 50?

Wild, eSignal doesn't even have ACTUAL volume for Eurex! And Eurex has been electronic for what 12+ years? Think that lets us all know what eSignal thinks of European focussed futures traders...last in the fing queue. Q1

    Are share prices random?

prices are probably not random, IMHO. if a good discretionary trader was to play stone-paper-scissors with an average trader...he would probably win despite the fact the result should be random... to say that because a series of closing prices fails the runs test that price movement is...

What to do about a choppy market...

use a choppy friendly trading strategy? a choppy friendly strategy might have payout features different from a typical 40-70% wins 3:1 to 1:1 win loss ratio...that most people target. why is no one interested in 10% winners 15:1 or 95% winners 1:8? Q1

profitseer's time tested e mini system

on the "philosophy" front...the old saying that its simple but not easy comes from the fact that experienced profitable discretionary-ish traders work with a complex model of the market in their heads but only require simple triggers to let them know whether their model is, in their view...

    I'm capitulating

Vishnu, I applaud your intiation of this discussion. So far you have had some intelligent (I don't mean intellectual) responses but I'm afraid so many of them are the EXACT mirror image of the sentiments you would have provoked had you dicussed going short over the winter of 1999/2000. I...

    adding liquidity

daqtrader, take one island traded stock. take away all the bids and all the offers. now add liquidity by hitting all the bids and offers that are not there. OR take one NYSE stock. subtract the specialist. now trade. that's why you get paid to bid and offer. :D Q1

    Turtle Trading System??

one of the reasons why people think these long term system don't work is that they can ONLY be looked at on a portfolio basis. Looking at a long term breakout system on the individual markets and dismissing it because it performs really badly on some markets misses the point entirely. eg I think...

Interesting signs of a real bottom in the bear market

jbtrader23, they are just being professional. a panic bottom does not look like Aliens. if it did it would be so obvious everyone would buy, right? a true bottom in a sophisticated market (like the US stock market) should be totally AMBIGUOUS. the hand-wringing uncertainty of whether it is...
