    Any trader From Italy?

Setting up a corporation in a tax-free country and paying a dividend to an individual in another country where receiving dividends is taxed is a solution. But in most cases, it is illegal for the individual not to declare these dividend payments. Another advantage of Switzerland : not having...

    Any trader From Italy?

Thx for the link. I personnaly live in Switzerland. Here too it's grey area with capital gains. Officially, capital gains on private wealth aren't taxed, but the frontier between private and business wealth isn't very well defined.

Do you tell people you're a trader?

It's almost incredible how about 90% of posters in this old thread have totally disappeared since then. Now they must be saying : " I used to daytrade". Again and again, we are back to this 90% failure rate....or they really got enough of ET and left...

    Mathematics skills for discretionary trading.

Who's talking about PhD ? Do you have any personal frustration vs PhD holders ? Personally I don't. When it comes to all these 'common sense' traders who make money, I have some bad news for them : they have to fall in one of the following categories 1) They manipulate markets : illegal...

    Mathematics skills for discretionary trading.

If you can find an edge (and are able to understand what an edge is) without having a clue in advanced maths, why do you care then ? However, if you want to find a real edge and capitalize on it correctly and manage your risks at the same time, you better have to go and study maths at a...

    switzerland

I am swiss and have the same problem. They don't want to rent you something as long as you don't have a SALARY. It has nothing to do with being a foreigner or not. By the way, most people haven't a clue of what a 'trader' is. Tell them you're a money manager. Another way to circumvent that...

Can money management alone create any edge?

I would tend to define trade management as all methods designed to enhance performance and money management as all methods designed for risk management purposes.

Can money management alone create any edge?

They will show the same degradation, but one needs more time to be statistically identified as such. If my backtesting says that historically my 65% system has already showed a string of 10 losses, after a string of 15-20 losses, I would start wondering if something bad is happening to me. With...
