    Sorry PM, you lost me on step two. I never actually gave a strike, just said the underlying was at 50. Do you use the strike of the put, or the underlying price for the calculation? cd, i take it you are not a fan of naked puts?

    yo brah, you crack me up. stock has a delta of 1. u have 1000 shares so that's 1000 long deltas. the jan 20 calls have a 79 delta. u sold ten of these so that's 790 short deltas. net effect is 210 long deltas. that means at this moment, your position is acting like u bought 210 shares...

    you cannot totally avoid SE, but you can minimize it using a SMLLC with an S election, or an S-corporation. also, if you elect MTM through your entity, you are not stuck. closing the entity terminates the election.

    The long leg will not exercise unless it's ITM or you instruct it to. Sometimes you may want to buy back a credit spread gone well so you can eliminate the margin.

    Right now I'm trying to do this for a living (independently). I've been live for seven months. Anything that will help me with that and keep me on an upward progression from Natenberg (I read several beginner's books before him).

    I'm closing in on finishing Natenberg for the second time, which is the highest level book I've read. I understand about 90-95% of it, so I believe I'm ready for the next step. What do you guys suggest? All I can think of right now is Augen.
